Shower and Prep

"Sixty-seven points," you mutter under your breath, quickening your pace as you and David navigate the evening bustle of Putney High Street. "Just thirty-three more."

David glances sideways at you, curious. "What's that?"

"Return Points," you explain, clutching the Slink Boutique shopping bag tighter. "I'm getting close to having enough to reverse this whole... situation." You gesture vaguely at your transformed body.

The evening air carries the scent of nearby restaurants, making your stomach growl. You realize you haven't eaten since that charged lunch with Clara.

"I need to get ready," you say, your steps becoming more purposeful. "Clara will be over in less than two hours."

David keeps pace beside you, his longer strides easily matching your quicker ones. "You really think getting those points is going to fix everything?" he asks, his tone carefully neutral. "That you'll just wake up one morning as Matt again and everything goes back to normal?"

The question hits you harder than expected. You've been so focused on accumulating points that you haven't really considered what "normal" would look like after everything you've experienced as Mia.

"That's the goal," you reply, but there's a hint of uncertainty in your voice that wasn't there before.

You round the corner onto your street, the familiar brick façade of your building coming into view. David fishes the keys from his pocket as you approach, unlocking the door with practiced ease.

Inside the flat, you kick off your uncomfortable office heels with a sigh of relief, your toes curling against the cool hardwood floor. "I'm going to shower," you announce, heading toward your room with the shopping bag. "Can you order the Thai? Clara likes the green curry, medium spice."

David raises an eyebrow. "You remember her order?"

Something about his tone makes you pause. "Yeah," you say slowly. "I guess I do." Another piece of information that wasn't Matt's, another moment where Mia feels increasingly natural.

In your bedroom, you carefully lay out the emerald slip dress on the bed, admiring how the fabric catches the light. You place the gold accessories beside it, then head to the bathroom, peeling off the now-wrinkled Office Tease outfit.

Under the hot spray of the shower, you watch as water cascades down your transformed body—over the fullness of your breasts, the narrowed curve of your waist, the plump roundness of your bottom. Your fingers trace the unfamiliar contours, no longer with the shock and dismay of those first moments, but with something closer to appreciation.

"Eyes on the prize," you remind yourself firmly, reaching for the shampoo. "Thirty-three more points. That's all."

But as you massage the fragrant lather through your copper waves, a small, unwelcome thought surfaces: what if being Matt again isn't actually what you want?
