The next lesson

The next lesson, Mrs Budgen handed Brian a note that read “Milk me after class.” It must have been a spelling mistake.

Brian acknowledged the note and got on with the class, taking notes and asking questions for clarity. Today’s lesson was on the limitations of Taur special due to their unusual body plan and how farming technology can be adapted to support. This is linked to this term's theme on using equipment.

Brian thought it was a little off topic when Mrs Budgen used her personal life as an example. She had recently had a child but cut her maternity leave as her university schedule was relaxed and her husband was being a stay-at-home dad. She mentioned how her husband, as a fellow Bucentaur, could not reach her udders, making it hard for her to be milked to allow him to bottle feed him. That even the milking machine was useless if it couldn’t be attached to property, and most Bucentaurs preferred milking by hand.

Brian reckoned this must have been weighing on her mind when she rote the note and put milk instead of meet by mistake. Class ended and Brian stayed behind.
