Chapter 1602 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Check in on Snow.

Shortly after dinner, once everyone has continued on to their own business--some remaining to clean or to play cards at the tables in the galley--you begin to wander the halls of the airship. It's truly a wonder to have such a vessel at your disposal now. And with William Cresswell having an entire mass of land to float where he pleases, it feels like you've gained yet another tool as a ruler, whether it be as Demon King, Hero King, or whatever else people wish to call you.

Eventually your exploration takes you to the deck. The sun has almost set. Like a bonfire over the horizon, orange light casts over the sea--calm this evening, almost like a floor of burning glass. There are some still present up here, though it takes you the longest to spot one figure in particular far above. If it wasn't for your Kitty Sense, you'd likely have never noticed, and speaking of kitty, there's one upon the crow's nest.

You climb your way up to the top.

Garbed in her usual tight black ninja-esque attire is the beautifully cute catfolk Snow. To contrast her dark attire, she has fair skin and almost radiant hair in how the sun reflects off the white. Her long, fluffy tail sways left and right as she wraps her fingers around the railing and stares off into the distance. When you reach the top, her ears twitch, and she turns her eyes slowly. Her mask is down, so her smile is visible.

"You don't have a spyglass," you say. "Are your eyes that good?"

"I have keen vision, but I'm not up here to scout," she answers.

"It's an amazing view."

"Yes. It is." She then fully turns and leans back. As silent and stealthy as she may be, the allure of her figure is far from subtle. She's also one of the girls who has been with you the longest, despite how her presence may seem. She prefers to watch from the shadows, in more ways than one, and is even quieter than Amara.

But as you look her over now, you take in the generous view--of her thighs in what amounts to effectively a one piece swimsuit, and of how form-fitting said garment is on her body. Her short snowy hair blows gently in the breeze, and her silver eyes shine like precious metal, though the light of the sun is gradually disappearing behind her. In the night, she seems even more lovely. It's a fitting atmosphere for a girl such as herself.

"A truly amazing view," you whisper.

"Hey now," she mutters back with colour now spreading across her face. "Did you come up here just to say that?"

"I wanted to make sure you were all right."

"I am, actually. Thank you again for allowing me to come. I know I don't speak often, but I would let you know if there was a problem."

You nod. "I appreciate that, Snow."

She takes in a deep breath as she casts her eyes once again to the horizon. "My journeys have taken me to many places. It feels like my life has been divided into sagas."

You chuckle. "And which one is this one?"

"... The best one so far."

"That's great to hear."

She turns fully around again. She bends over, stretching briefly with a wide arched back like a cat, before settling on leaning her arms over the handrail. "Respect and loyalty," she whispers softly.

You come up to lean beside her. "What was that?"

"The two most important things to me. I was already training in the art of the bow before I nearly perished and was saved by Mistress Dajy. But I pledged to pay her back, no matter what, and thus began the second saga. I continued to do as I did, but now for somebody else, and it honestly felt... proper. I'm not a leader. And I don't mind that. But despite all that happened, you not only took me in, but Mistress Dajy as well."

"The third saga, right?"

"I would be fine if this were the saga I remained in for the rest of my life."

"So you're a ninja who went from serving a high succubus, to serving a Demon King, who also helped take down two other Demon Kings. I think you've earned more respect than most people in this world ever will. Maybe I should serve you instead."

"N-No! I just finished telling you--"

You place a hand upon her shoulder. "That was a joke, Snow."

"... I knew that."

"You're the most loyal sniper anyone could ask for. But apart from all that, I'm just glad you're here with us."

"So you're saying I've done a good job?"

You look to her with a smirk. Slowly, you brush your finger up her cheek, and then reach between her ears to pat up and down. You then run your fingers back through her hair, and her ears begin to wildly twitch. "Good girl," you whisper. "Very good."

Her eyes flutter. She bends farther down, and her tail begins to wag. She doesn't speak. She might be trying, but all that comes out are pleased murmurs--a mixture of a gentle moan and a purr. Pure joy radiates from the girl, like an aura one could feel. With your Kitty Sense, you can.

What do you do?
