Chapter 2 Alternate Route 1 – Melody

It was a bit later in the day as his group was gathering supplies in the market that he ran into a familiar face. “Ah, hello Melody.” He said offering a smile.

“I’m surprised you remembered me, I didn’t think I’d made that big of an impression.”

“Well, you were among my top three picks, even if I ended up going with another option.” He explained. “It was a close call.”

She smiled, flashing her white teeth. “Well you know, I could always sweeten the deal if there’s a chance I could change your mind.”

He smiled in return, “I’m willing to hear your proposal.” He granted.

She glanced around the room to ensure they were alone; they were in a small shop that sold tools for maintaining a variety of equipment. “There’s an inn just a little ways down the street.” She informed him. “We could go there right now, and you could have your way with me. And when we’re on the road, I’d let you do the same any time we have sufficient privacy.”

Kaylen blushed. He’d anticipated something like this, but hadn’t expected her to be quite so forward or direct. “It’s a generous offer.”

“I thought you’d like it.” She moved closer, clearly drawing Kaylen’s attention to her lithe slender body.

“I think I can make a place for you in my party, maybe you’ll be a better fit than I’d originally thought.”

“You can think of it as a team building activity.” She said, getting close enough to trail a light caress down his arm. “Shall we head to the inn?”

“Lead the way.” Kaylen made a short bow and gestured towards the door.
