Chapter 2 by Verdant_Hatchling Verdant_Hatchling

"Welp, let's get to it."

A frisky feline...

As Derek was pulled to a new room, he saw a nearly miniature version of Eleera, as her daughter had her sights set on his form, as she stared starkly at him, as he passed by, reaching a dresser in the living room, finding an earthy toned room in his sight, a window in the corner showing a somewhat verdant plane, as he simply stood there.

Then, Eleera tore his shirt from his form, not holding back a single second, as she extended a claw to slice through the remnants of the threads holding it together, as she traced it over his musculature, as Derek himself was equally astonished by it, his newly enhanced physique pushing against her pressure ever so softly, as she led the claw further down, severing each and every thread that kept the ragged shirt together.

She then looked back to the dresser, grabbing a shirt, laying it against his form, checking the size, before grabbing another, repeating the process, a few shirts later, there was one that was approximately his size, as he slid it on, though it was slightly tight, as his new muscles bulged lightly through the cloth.

“Thank you, Eleera…” Derek felt slightly uncomfortable calling her by her first name, as he was affectionately hugged by the woman, as she whispered a few sweet nothings into his ear, as she reached a paw downwards, a quick slice later, and his belt, utterly unharmed from his previous expansion, was instantly loosened, as his pants dropped immediately after, to his ankles, as he stumbled to raise them back up, but instead, he simply fell backwards, smacking his head against a table.

This brought a bout of laughter to Eleera and her daughter, as she helped him to his feet, before motioning for her daughter to come closer, introducing her to Derek, “This is my daughter, Lena of Shade. This is… Oh, what’s your name?” She asked inquisitively, a wide smirk present on her face, clearly remembering her previous intentions.

“Oh, my name’s Derek Greatbane, or… I guess it’s Derek Greaten Dragonsbane, now.” As he corrected himself, this brought the grins of the women before him to a stop, as they stared at him, eyes wide open, starkly in his direction.

Then, Eleera hesitantly spoke, “So… You’re a Dragonsbane? This world… We’ve been waiting for one for… For years, we've…" She teared up, as she dropped to her knees, as she simply started bawling, her daughter soon following suit, unable to speak through their joy and overcome sorrow…

But all this brought an expression of uncertainty to Derek’s face, as he hesitantly asked her, “You… Y'all think I’m gonna kill a Dragon, don’t you?” He nearly balked, as he continued, “I haven’t killed anything… Ever, like I’ve never…”

This brought Eleera back to a sensible state, as she spoke, “Well, yeah. Previous Heroes have come from peaceful worlds, like you, I assume. You’d need to be prepared…”

Then, Lena of Shade jumped in, suddenly asking her mom, “Wasn’t there the Hero Kingdom? You told me stories of them when I was young…”

This brought a solemn silence to the room, as Eleera slowly spoke, “Well… They’ve become a… A mockery of what they once were. A school for the wealthy, utterly abandoning their talent first ideology for wealth…” She looked away, a sadness apparent in her eyes, as she relented, “But… They MIGHT be the only option…”

As she nearly echoed the words of the notification from before, Derek remembered the Gift Bags he’d received, as he accepted one of them.

And he merely stood there, slack jawed as he stared at what he’d received, as he willed the Axe to his hand.

And a truly unwieldy axe, nearly ten feet long, as a massive lump of an unknown metal at the end was formed into a razor sharp blade.

And all the while, Derek was struggling to hold it up, to avoid smashing the ground, so he willed it away, shocking the mother-daughter duo greatly, as they simply watched him.

But then,. Derek reached an impasse in his thinking, “Why’d they give me Swordsmanship, and then give me an Axe? Well… I guess it IS randomized…” Then, he pondered over the Spellcasting skill, and the effects he could manifest with it.

And with that thought came a splash of water. As it began floating through the sky. Then Derek reached his hand out, touching the ball of water with a single finger, before tearing it away with an expression of intense pain.

-1000 HP (Minor Frostbite Afflicted)

He then dropped the spell, and noticed over a thousand mana gone from his pool, as he stood there, being gawked at by the two women present.
