"I'm sorry, Gavin..." The busty redhead smiled at him gently, while still clinging to his side with one of her arms around his back - and with one of his around her naked shoulders. They'd just wobbled over to one of the wooden benches, and they were now sitting side by side and huddled tight together on it. "You know I didn't mean to startle you...!"

"Yeah, it's ok." He managed a quick smile at her, though he still looked just a little uneasy about having her so close to his side. "Are you sure you're ok though...?"

"Yeah, I'm just fine!" She reassured him with a little laughter, and suddenly everything seemed like completely normal again. Except that she was leaning her head on one of her best friend's shoulders of course, and not being the slightest embarrassed about having him hold her close - with nothing but her skintight swimsuit between his palm and her skin. In fact, it couldn't really get that much better than this. "I had a really bad morning, that's all!"

"Well, ok...?" He tried to make her say something more, though he seemed fairly at ease when she didn't. "If you're really sure about it...?"

"Just a little fallout with some of the others." She figured would be enough information to give him, even if it wasn't entirely true. And the more she thought about it, the more she was convinced that whatever had occurred between herself and the others had mostly been nothing but the ghosts of her own imagination. "I'd just... like to wait here for a while, before going back to the cabin..."

"Yeah, fine." Gavin agreed, and she could feel him at least try and relax again. She'd always known he was rather shy and introverted of course - and had even come to like those traits about him -, but as the seconds passed she found herself wishing he'd been just a little more forward about some things in life.

If only he'd been able to read her mind or something, so she wouldn't have to say out loud what she'd really need most of all right now...
