He tries, but not enough

It took him some moments to gather his courage, but then Zack decided to at least try and be frank about his feelings with Vicky.

"Good morning!" He greeted her softly, and could see her jump a little in surprise as he stepped up beside her by the kitchen table. While he didn't mean to scare her, he was actually happy for the look on her face when she turned her head to look at him. At least he liked to think that she was glad to see him then, rather than if it'd been someone else.

"Hi Zack." She replied with a startled smile, before returning her attention to the sandwich she was making. It didn't look like much of a breakfast to Zack, but then she wasn't a very big girl either. "Have you been up for long?"

"Not much." He told her, as he figured it wasn't too big of a lie. Longer than her most likely, but not for several hours. "What about you?"

"Same here." She confessed, and then continued thoughtfully. "It seems like everyone's a bit tired after the trip... Did you sleep well tonight?"

"Not particularly." Zack told her, and then hesitated as he was trying to figure a way to get the conversation on the right track. What would a guy like Kurt have done? Just told her he'd been awake and thinking about her all night...?

Vicky interpreted his distraction for something else however, and there was a smile suddenly crossing her face as she came to think of something. Perhaps it was Kurt's lewdness that had managed to get to her head after all, or she was simply in that kind of mood today.

"And how's Chloe?" She asked with that suggestive little smile on her face, and figured her suspicions to be spot on when she could see that uncomfortable look on his face. "I saw you had the room with a double bed..."

"Well... yeah..." Zack answered her, while clearly surprised at the suggestive tone to her voice. He'd always thought she was the nice and shy kind of girl, but all things considered he was seriously starting to doubt it now. It certainly got him out of balance, and he didn't really know how to react to it other than answering honestly. "We've been friends for a long time though, and we used to have a lot of sleepovers when we were kids..."

"Oh...?" She wondered, and again with that curious smile. "I knew you'd always been close..."

The words 'fuck buddies' never passed her lips, though Zack could still see it written clearly over the cute blonde's face. And did she look like the idea of it was even turning her on? Or was it just a trick of his imagination...?

Either way he couldn't try and reply to it before the question wasn't even asked out loud - or he'd be making an even bigger mess if that's not at all what she thought of -, and the resulting silence only made it seem like her theory was correct.

"Well, I think you're lucky!" Vicky continued after finishing her sandwich, and letting Zack in on the bread and the various fillings they'd brought. She'd just remembered now what Chloe had said to her yesterday, and was both curious and wanting to 'set things right again'. "She's really hot, you know!"

"Uh, yeah..." Zack mustered a quick smile, as he certainly couldn't deny that last part at least. But then he struggled to find words, and could only manage the most corny kind of thing to say to her. "You too, you know..."
