Poor Girl
“Baby – why are you crying – miss me too much? Don't worry I’m here,” Sergei gave his signature handsome smile. Amused.
Cameron didn’t find it amusing.
The audacity to show up. Two weeks after he said he would be home.
“Maggie died,” she said.
“Who?” Sergei said.
“Maggie Linders – she was my closest friend on track – she killed herself…” Cameron wept.
Sergei felt as if he should care – but frankly didn’t.
“Death. It’s not something we can change, my dear. Even if we want to. She made a terrible choice,” He said, “Poor girl…”
“It could have been me,” Cameron said.
“Not in the slightest. Listen to me – I saved you from that horrible life. Your crazy old man stretching you like a rubber band.
“As long as you are with me – nothing bad will happen to you. Christ, Cam – why didn’t you tell me?!” He said, pulling her in.
Cameron fell into his arms.
“You were gone so long this time…” she pouted.
