Chapter 16 by Yarkoz Yarkoz

How does she break it, and in what way?

Gavin breaks it for her by breaking away

Gavin curses and then stands up to grab his clothes. Victoria simply watches.

"I-I'm sorry. Again. I-I didn't mean for any of that," he stuttered, quickly dressing himself and keeping a great distance away from her.

"I know, Gavin," Victoria sighed. "It was... instinct." She shook her head.

"Yeah," he chided, fumbling angrily with his shirt and tucking it into his shorts. "Instinct. Especially me, Mr. Horny Geek. "I felt like I used you, Victoria. I-I can't shake that."

"Gavin, please, don't think like that." Victoria knitted her eyebrows together. "That's what I really mean by confidence in yourself. Saying that doesn't help, it only makes you feel worse. And take it from me, it's okay, it's done. Let's get over it."

Gavin stayed silent, processing what she said. His self-pity and disgust were hard to tame, but maybe with Victoria's help -- in other, more appropriate capacities -- and the help of his friends, he could overcome that, or at least deal with it.

Victoria stared at Gavin with sympathy. Those kisses were... well, great. Sweet, slow, and passionate, those qualities dwelt within him that their intimate contact yanked to the surface. She couldn't think of any other reason of why she had become turned on to such a degree. She could see hope for him yet, as long as he conquers his fears of himself.

"I have a big crush on Heather," Gavin stated like his brain was a tape recorder and his mouth the speaker. He immediately blushed, but it was too late. Victoria's smile tugged at the corners of her mouth.

"Really? She's pretty rambunctious, I'm surprised."

"I don't know, I like... uh, well..."

"A quality that may or may not be her chest warmers?" Victoria finished his thought and Gavin stopped, completely red in the face. Victoria smirked and nodded. "Yeah, yeah they're pretty impressive, I'll even admit that."

"I do like her personality though!" Gavin defended himself.

"It's okay, you're a boy." Victoria poked him in the arm. "Obviously."

Gavin's expression soured. "Horny Geek Guy..."

"I said stop it. Here's lesson number one: no more saying stuff like that. You see a hot girl, you like the way she fills out her clothes, that's natural, that's okay." She paused and bit her lip. "I like broad backs and strong arms, what can I say? We all have our turn-ons and buttons that people press unknowingly. The difference is, how do you act on it? You could stare at her like a creep and jack off to her at night, or you could be a predator like Kurt wants to be apparently. Or... you could introduce yourself, get to know her, and if she seems nice and fun and interesting... well, see what happens from there."

She stopped her train of thought. Bad memories from the not too distant past arose of bad boyfriends that treated her like shit, and wanted nothing more to do with her after she said she didn't want to have sex. Then she thought of Zack and smiled warmly. She needed to talk to him when they got back.

Then Gavin gave her a chaste hug. "Zack is really lucky to have you," he said. She beamed and returned it.

"C'mon, let's head back," Victoria said. "We've seen enough birds for one day."

Gavin just smiled and walked with her back to the cabin.

What do they find back at the cabin?
