A wall of cold rain pummeled Red. The roar of raindrops hitting the pavement filled her ears and her clothes were quickly soaked. The dark skies matched her mood; she had been pissed all morning. The downpour interrupting her jog was just one more thing.

“Damn. Well, I’m heading out soon, but I hope you feel better.”

“Thanks, dude. I appreciate that.”

Once in the bathroom, Red stripped off her wet clothes and started drying off. Lily was still in the shower, so Red figured she would just put on a towel and wait in the main room. She was surprised to see Craig was still there, backpack in hand.

“I’ll see you tonight, Angel,” he said, seductively.

Red was about to object when Craig’s lips collided with hers. Her eyes flew open with shock as Craig’s tongue explored her mouth. The bathroom door suddenly burst open and Lily swept into the room.

“Hey, Red! Were you waiting for the shower?”

“You had me worried there. I’ve never seen someone swoon before,” Lily said carefully. “What happened?”

Red’s cheeks flushed at the memory.

“Somehow, it just hit me,” Red whispered. “I’m still waiting for the other shoe to drop. Am I just playing dress up? Am I deluding myself into thinking I’m a woman? But this,” Red continued, placing a hand over her belly. “This is undeniable. This is real.”

Lily gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead. “That’s an incredible breakthrough. I’m so proud of you.”

Red felt her cheeks flush at the praise and her thoughts kept tumbling out of her mouth.

“When I was Hank, I never could have imagined this. He only knew how to hurt, how to destroy. I have the chance to create something beautiful.

“He always had to control everything and everyone. But now, a man could claim me. If he planted his seed in me, my womb would accept it. My body would start working and there would be nothing I could do about it.”

Red bit her lip, trying to push down the heat rising within her at this line of thought.

“Wow, you’re getting pretty excited there,” Lily noted.

“What, no. That’s weird,” Red protested, pulling the towel tighter around her chest.

“It’s perfectly normal,” Lily countered. “Everyone has a kink.”

“I don’t have a breeding kink.”

“Suuure. You can’t fool me, girlfriend. Are you telling me you aren’t thinking of a man painting your walls white? That the idea of being impregnated doesn’t do anything for you?”

Red shook her head furiously, too embarrassed and aroused to give a coherent rebuttal.

“Is your sister still trying to convince your parents you’re a con artist? That you’re not the real Lily?”

“At least your family still talks to you. Mom hasn’t returned any of my calls since I told her I got kicked off the team and lost my scholarship. As far as I know, she doesn’t even know I changed.”
