she strutted over to Makoto the elephant, who moved one of her arms in a trunk-like manner.

"Burrrr!" Makoto grumbled as she reached out to Ann.

Ann stumbled back, acting as a chicken would. "Buk? BAWK BAWK!" she cried, clearly terrified.
