Chapter 4 by fantaghiro
What's next?
Her own mother, Diana
You sighed and shook your head. She had not got along well with her mother at all, but she did love her. Diana had been demanding and severe, traits that had made her a successful businesswoman but had took a heavy toll on her family. Sarah's father divorced Diana years ago, and neither she nor her siblings kept a close relationship with their mother despite Sarah's best efforts.
It hadn't helped that Diana strongly disapproved of you. She claimed that it was because you didn't have ambition or apply yourself enough - that you should be a C-level executive by this point rather than just a senior programmer. You knew it was more than that, however; she took an instant dislike of you when you met for the very first time, and that only grew stronger once you and Sarah married.
You had to admit Diana was very attractive. She carried herself with confidence, poise, and a subtle glamour. A couple years back Sarah and you attended some gala where she was a presenter and panelist - and even at 65 years old she drew looks from many men.
And at the social afterwards you couldn't help but notice the similarities she had with Sarah.

But the cold look she gave you whenever you met left you with no doubt of her opinion of you.

How would Sarah deal with being in her mother's body - and having to live her mother's life? How would you? Too many questions ran through your head...
Sarah wakes up? Jump ahead to her being discharged?

The Ultimate Transplant
Someone you know is given a new body & life
PLEASE ADD CHAPTERS! A close friend or family member is horribly injured in an accident. As they lay dying in the emergency room, another patient dies of a brain aneurysm. Both of them are organ donors, so a surgeon decides it's the perfect opportunity for him to try an experimental surgery. He transplants the victim's higher brain (the cerebellum) to the donor's body in an attempt to 'save' a life. Amazingly it works. But the surgery was not approved so the hospital convinces the families to keep quiet, arguing that revealing this operation to the public would bring never-ending media attention to all involved. That means that the patient will have to publicly assume the identity of the donor. What will this mean to your friends and family? Who else will you tell? Although you will spend a lot of time and effort giving support, how will all this alter your relationship to the patient? And how will he or she adapt to a complete change of body and identity? Many transformation stories focus on the change or victim, so I thought it would be interesting to instead have the POV be someone who sees the change from the outside. Writers feel free to explore a change in age, gender, class or ethnicity - and the repercussions that change would have on the main character (and others).
