Chapter 20 by Ash30

Plans and choices

On the road to the bonfire the two had to stop and grab drinks along the way. Back in his truck Mich again looked over to his Amazon, he was both surprised and not at how quickly his mind had slotted Jessica into the “mine” category. Jess was less caught up in the new change of the relationship between the two. In her mind Mich had been hers for years and she his, so the new physical and magical closeness was just the next step for her.

Jess was also distracted by a mental list she was running in her head.

As their older siblings had demonstrated not all women found a man to bond with early in life and there was always something of a **** edge to many women when a man was not accompanied by more than two women. The formation of a harem was also to protect the man at its core.

After her talk with Michaels mothers Jessica had come to the conclusion that she would need to both carefully and quickly assembled a harem of strong women around her man to keep him safe.

She wasn’t worried about his body. He was powerful and highly competent his mage dueling champion trophies attested to that, and that was actually part of the problem. He was extremely desirable, and his power would only grow stronger on the lathe the two planned to walk.

“Mich, is there anyone you are looking forward to meeting at the bonfire?” She had a few girls in mind to recruit to help her but if Mich had any girls he wanted, she would need to assess them.

It took Miches brain a minute to shake the dream of what he had planned for later that night when he and Jess would have some alone time. “Greg and Oliver, they wanted to make announcements. Probably want to tell everyone about how they and Katrina and Shaneece are pairing up. Those four all thought they were so subtle.” He shook his head at the memories of his two friends trying to be subtle about their relationships. Then again, he and Jess didn’t really have all that much room to talk.

Jess had to resist the urge to roll her eyes. Women Mich, are there any women you are looking to grab you goof.

“Oh ya, June wanted to talk, something about future plans, she wasn’t very clear beyond that.”

Jess flipped through her mental Rolodex. June… Juneeca Lea? She was a lean Amazon woman, around 6’5” and of Asian decent. She was an Amazon nerd, with all that entailed. Though Jess remembered that June was also well trained in several traditional martial arts and had won several markswoman competitions. She was also very knowledgeable with electronics, some stereotypes existed for a reason.

Jess had to admit that if the shy and quiet woman wanted a place in her man’s life she may be a good option.

“Oh Storm also said that she wanted to talk to both of us.”

That was a name Jessica new well. A former rival turned friend and ally Eagle Riding the Storm was an ikon of the strong, wild, and beautiful women of the People of the horse and plains. She was at the top of Jessica’s list to recruit. Well she would have a word with her possible second about trying to jump in line.

“Any body else?” She needed at him, she just needed to know if there would be any problems to run of tonight. She was not going to risk her man’s golden heart in the hands of some calluses drama chaser who would have no idea the value of what she was being offered. If Jess had it her was there would never be a scar inflicted on that massive loving heart. And if there was… well there was always ways to deal with a body. Just had to make sure her future wives were only arguing over who held their man while the rest got rid of a body.

Her dark musings were interrupted.” to talk to Abby.”

“Sorry, what?” She looked at him. He could not be this perfect this could not be lignin up this well.

“Um… ya I was hoping we might run into and talk to Abbigail, I know she’s not a graduate this year but… well I was hoping if she’s there we could talk to her. She hasn’t found a harem to join kept talking about not really fitting in or just not being the right time.”

Jess had to fight not to have her jaw drop. Abbigail was two years older that them. She had also been a graduate of the same school and a four-year champion in the school level armored combat sports both individual and team. She was not as tall as Jess but was one of the few Amazons who was of comparable mass, both women classing as either heavy or superheavys depending on the brackets. And Abby had recognized in Jess a kindred spirit taking the younger women under her wing.

Abby had been mentor, sister, teammate and confidante to the younger woman. And there was the chemistry between the pair that had Jess been admittedly set on Mich being all of her firsts first, they would have likely become lovers. During their shared time in school she had helped the young couple from off stage as it were. Keeping older girls from trying to horn in and swipe “that hot tasty boy” from Jess.

A year after Abby graduated Jess had gotten a call asking if they could meet and talk. Jess had only asked where, then raced to the small coffee shop as fast as possible. Abby had been a wreck. The fertility goddess warrior woman had been barely holding herself together. As soon as Jessica had touched her, she collapsed into her sister in arms arms and broke down crying.

When it finally came out Jess was horrified. It turned out that the man Abby had been after had not only rejected her but had done it at the urging of the woman Abby had considered her best friend. Turned out that her so called friend had actually been nursing a one sided rivalry for years and had taken her chance to not only steal the man she liked, maybe loved. But had gone the extra mile to poison him against Abby.

The shock and cruel rejection had deeply hurt the warm bear of a woman and she had needed plenty of help to recover. But the best part had been Mich. The goof had answered her call for help and walked right into the emotional typhoon of Abby’s broken heart as calm as you please, rolled up his pre verbiage sleeves and only asked “how can I help?” No comments, no sexual offers, nothing like that, just a shoulder to cry on, an extra set of hands to pick up pieces, and another set of arms to hold a friend while she cried.

Jess had rekindled her friendship with Abby then and neither had let it fade after. Several weeks ago she had finally confessed her plans to the older woman who had looked her in the eyes “Jess, that man of yours is worth more than anything I can think of, he has more promise than most anyone else I know and that heart of his is a true treasure. I… I wish I had been the same age as you two. I’d have been in with you keeping that man safe in a heartbeat. Your going to have your work cut out for you keeping the diggers a wreckers away from him girl.”

Jess had seen the longing in her friend’s eyes. “Abby, I actually think I want you helping me with him.”

The older woman looked very suppressed and more than a little hopeful. “Really sister. You would share that walking talking treasure? Girl sign me up!”

And now Mich was wanting to bring Abby into their life. Jess felt her smile would split her face. “Sure Mich if Abby’s there we can talk to her.”

So quick question
