A modern world of wizards and amazons

On a world somewhat similar to our own humans evolve. On this world however there is one massive difference, this world has magic. This ability to use magic has had an interesting effect on gender dimorphism. In this world human women benefit from the ability to reinforce and strengthen their bodies channeling their magical energy into a natural physical enhancement matrix. Over time this resulted in womens magic becoming more and more focused on enhancing their physique. This has lead to women in the modern age being between 6’6” to 7’8” Amazons. This has resulted pregnancy and childbirth being very easy in comparison.

Men however took a different path. Males develop the ability to more easily project mana into powerful offensive and defensive abilities. Men now had a selective pressure to be more magically powerful rather than physically strong. The led to mens magical abilities being what made them desirable. Over time men became what we would call wizard walking magical artillery batteries. This magic projection ability also allowed them to shield and further empower their mates.

Over time these selective pressures created an unbalanced gender ratio of 4 or 5 to 1 woman to men with the physically stronger women being more likely to service to adulthood. This resulted in a pridelike structure where several women would form a family unit around a man. The man would then use his magic to further empower the women while handling anything that was suboptimal for his mates to deal with.

I’m modern times with most of the dangers that once roamed the world pushed back. The gender ratio fas shifted slightly but there are still usually 3 or 4 Amazon’s to every man.
