To the Pallet Town Port!

Here it is, the Pallet Town Port! Well, sure, there was some stuff that happened along the way. You saw some wild pokemon on the way from Viridian City to Pallet Town, but you weren’t able to get any battle experience. You sent out Onix, but all the Pidgeys and Rattatas just ran away… Pallet Town was pretty easy to get through, considering all the signs only pointed to the academy or the port. The area around the academy seemed way more developed and populated than the rest of the town, so it was easy to avoid like the plague. Who’d voluntarily sign up for even more school after they already graduated high school? The thought makes you shudder.

Anyway, no need to think about weirdos who like studying. It’s time to get on a boat! It’s not hard to figure out which one you’ll be riding, either. The luxury cruise liner must be the one Stump was talking about. It doesn’t quite compare to the S.S. Anne, but it’s still a stylish ride! Err, stylish sail!

“Wow, I get to ride to Cinnabar Island on that?” you wonder aloud.

“Nope,” an old man answers. “That ship hasn’t set sail for years. Seems there aren’t enough people going back and forth between Cinnabar to justify it. If that’s where you’re headed, you better line up over there. Looks like they’re about ready to leave you behind.”

“Huh?” You look where the man is pointing to see a small crowd formed around an equally small ferry. It looks no different than if they just put a bus in the water. There aren’t even any seats! “I have to ride that!?”

“I’m afraid so. There just aren’t as many people making this commute as there used to be. It doesn’t justify pulling that beauty out of port anymore.”

You run to the ferry, leaving the old man behind. “W-Wait for me!” You barely make it on board before they set off, sliding to Cinnabar Island with both the speed and luxury of a snail.
