Chapter 573

…Nevermind…
Let it pass
You spent the next few minutes trying to ignore the conversation that passed back and forth between everyone while they talked about stories of your past embarrassments.
Luckily Mom hadn’t been lying when she said that dinner was almost ready and she directed you all to head to the dining room before another tale of you getting caught being pervy was told to make you cringe yet again.
Mom kept Lucy behind just so the two of them could bring in the food all at once, so you directed everyone else towards the table.
Just as you reached the dining room however, Sarah was walking in from the hallway to meet you all, giving her a chance to make an entrance without worrying about Mom.
She wore a sundress as if she had already planned on matching some of the others but it was clearly too short to be worn on its own and the fact that the deep V of its neckline also proved that it was supposed to be worn with other clothes as well only heightened the look, helped by her now enlarged chest to fill out the top a bit more.
It felt more like an apron than anything else but you couldn’t take your eyes off her. She saw she had your attention when she saw your gaze and did a quick spin, showing that she wasn’t wearing any panties as she twirled.
“Oh uhh… Hi Miss Ryan” Sarah shyly greeted as Rebecca came out from behind you to head into the dining room.
Sarah’s held her hands nervously in front of her crotch to prevent the dress from revealing herself again and a blush reddened her cheeks.
“Hi Sarah. And please call me Rebecca. You’ve gone for a more daring approach than me that I’m slightly envious of but I can’t say I’d have your confidence to pull it off” Rebecca replied, grabbing the hem of her dress to lightly show off her outfit.
“You look incredible!” Sarah complimented, her nervousness mostly disappearing when her clothes weren’t seen poorly.
“Says you. I’d kill to have your legs” Rebecca was quick to point out, the two of them trading compliments back and forth that would have been mistaken for flirting in any other circumstance.
Grace and Emma had stayed out of the conversation but you could see that the both of them had been primed to back Sarah up in her choice if Rebecca hadn’t reacted as perfectly as she had, both of them relaxing on either side of you.
Emma gave you a wide smile as she could see things going well and with the footsteps of Mom heading towards you from the kitchen, you quickly directed everyone to their seats, managing to get people seated where you thought would be best.
You were also quick the get Sarah sat down so that Mom would only see how low cut her top was first, and not that it was also incredibly short on top of that too.
Mom entered first and started loading up the table, heading back and forth from the kitchen with another few things just as Lucy finished setting down what she was carrying.
Lucy sat in the last chair along the side of the table and that left the only chair at the head left for Mom to sit at, the chair she deserved given all the effort she had put into this.
Table arrangement:
L,E,G
==== M
S,*,R
(Initials for characters plus * being Max)
You had Sarah off to one side of you with Rebecca on the other each facing Lucy, Emma and Grace respectively. You knew that Sarah and Rebecca would likely need some encouragement from you that you could hopefully provide by being at their side.
Similar to Sarah being near Lucy and Mom being near Grace. You didn’t think anything would be wrong in any combination or seating arrangement but if this helped push things in a more positive direction then you’d consider your planning to be well worth it.
Mom did give Sarah a look over her outfit but Grace was quick to shoot a look right back in Mom’s direction making her feel like the chided one instead and the whole thing seemed dealt with without any more issues.
The last thing that Lucy also carried in were the wine glasses for the people who hadn’t been in the kitchen earlier and with that, everyone was sat down and ready for the meal to begin. Mom looked over to you to kick things off and you lightly tapped your wine glass to signal you were starting your toast.
“I’ve always wanted to do that” you admitted quickly, setting the tone that you weren’t planning on being particularly formal.
“I’d like to thank you all for attending and I’d really like to thank Mom for preparing all this as it looks fantastic” you said with everyone quickly agreeing with you.
Mom had prepared what you would consider an amazing roast dinner with almost every side dish you could imagine to accompany it. With the amount of food on the table, there was likely enough for even more people and you were definitely happy that some of this would be waiting for you to have for lunch tomorrow.
This is where you felt like your voice would hitch or you would struggle to continue speaking so you felt yourself rush to get the words out, finding your stride as you continued with what you had planned to say.
“Honestly it really does mean a lot that all of you are here and while I don’t think any of us would have expected this sort of arrangement to occur only just a few weeks ago, I think I’m happy to say that I wouldn’t have it any other way. So to us! And to this meal!” you toasted, raising your glass as everyone gave cheers and a smile to accompany your own.
“Do you wanna say grace as well Mom?” you asked, not wanting to break tradition.
“I think you said everything and I couldn’t have put it better myself so, let’s eat!” Mom announced, gesturing to the rest of the table to dig in.
You were first to start cutting from the roast in the centre and you offered the first slice to Rebecca as a guest being here for the first time. You then turned to start grabbing your own when you saw more outstretched plates awaiting their turn, quickly having everyone join in with the trend before it was too late.
Eventually you got to fill your own plate and everyone grabbed the sides they wanted for themselves without having you also have to serve them.
The first few minutes were filled with no conversation as everyone enjoyed the food, except for the occasional compliment given to Mom before people went right back to eating. You could see that Mom was enjoying the attention and that her efforts had paid off and you gave her a wink when she looked your way.
After that, people seemed to slow down and conversation looked ready to start back up with everyone now present.
Author's note: Not sure if the formatting on the table layout makes sense but it seemed to be the easiest way to explain the layout :)
How does the meal go?
