Week 2: Monday, 10th Dec 2029, Early Afternoon
The afternoon sun slanted through the office blinds, casting geometric shadows on my desk. Now, with lunch settled and the day's more mundane business handled, it was time for answers.
Yoko sat cross-legged on the sofa, her dark hair was even more disheveled than usual.
"Talk to me," I said, settling behind my desk.
Yoko spun around dramatically, dark hair whipping around her shoulders as she fixed me with those intelligent eyes that sparkled with mischief. "Oh, Master~" she drawled, "you're going to *ove this. Our little digital visitor has a name and it's Lorelei Falkenrath.
"You say that name as if I'm supposed to know who that is," I said.
"That raider chick Mikhail pissed off," Yoko replied, her tone shifting to something more conversational but retaining that underlying current of amusement. "I guess she's upset you got your hands on him first. Possessive type, apparently."
"Information gathering first instead of direct confrontation," I mused aloud. "Strange behavior for a Silver Fang raider."
Yoko's laugh was pure mischief. "Well, Master, if she's as intellectually gifted as our dear Mikhail, he won't be cowering in the Free Cities."
"Any other information you managed to extract?"
"Mmm, not much beyond the basics," Yoko admitted, fingers already returning to her digital pad to pull up her analysis. "Whoever this is, they opened the decoy on a subordinate's device. I've got some surface-level intelligence on their current operations but nothing deeply personal. I could run a comprehensive background check if you want" She replied.
"Not now," I decided. "We have a better source readily available."
"You mean Mikhail?" Her tone carried just a hint of anticipation.
"Exactly. I think after last night's session, he'll be considerably more inclined to communicate."
Yoko's eyes lit up with genuine interest. "Ooh, interrogation time? Can I watch? Pretty please?" She clasped her hands together in mock supplication, batting her eyelashes with exaggerated innocence.
"Jennifer shouldn't get all the fun. heel, my little digital gremlin."
Yoko sprang from the sofa with an exaggerated bow. "Should I grab the leash?"
I let a slow smile spread. “Fetch, Yoko. Humans grab, puppies fetch.”
