Chapter 3 by Ggnt
What's next?
Sierra and her competitive college friends
Sierra stared at the notebook. Had that really happened? She must be more tired than she thought, it just wasn’t possible.
“Uh hello, earth to Sierra?” She looked up and saw Ken standing there, holding out her coffee for her.
She blinked, “Uh, sorry. Thanks.” She took the cup from him and set it down in front of her. Ken sat down with his drink, and put a third cup down at an empty seat, “Hey Kenji…you didn’t notice anything…weird…about that barista?”
Ken raised an eyebrow, then turned in his chair to look back at the counter, “Um…no? Should I?”
“So she wasn’t topless?” Sierra asked incredulously.
Ken laughed, “I wish. Wait, did I miss a nip slip?”
“What are you two talking about?” Mira asked, just coming back from the bathroom, “I swear I can’t leave you two alone.”
Sierra rolled her eyes, “Just have a seat Mira.”
“She asked me if the barista was topless. Maybe she’s been daydreaming again.” Ken said.
“No. Ok. Look.” Sierra wrote the same thing as before.
Old Rule: The dress code requires female employees to be topless at all times.
Sierra looked up, once again the woman was topless save for her apron, “See! She’s topless!”
Her friends looked at her like she was crazy, “Uh, yeah. We came here cause you two pervs like to look.” Mira said.
“Yeah, it certainly isn’t because they have good coffee.” Ken said, making a face after taking a sip.
“But…she wasn’t…and then I wrote this…and she was.” Sierra said, trying not to sound crazy.
Ken leaned forward to read what she’d written, “Sierra, that’s always been the rule here.”
“No. I just wrote it. It can’t be the rule, it would be illegal to **** them to work topless.”
“Of course,” Mira agreed, “But it’s a job. They can quit whenever. Topless barista isn’t for everyone, but I heard they make good tips.”
“Really? Thinking of joining them?” Ken asked slyly.
Mira crossed her arms over her chest, “Perv.”
“Wait wait…” Sierra quickly erased the rule again. “See, her shirt is back!”
Her friends stared at her like she was crazy.
“Back? What are you talking about?” Mira asked.
At this point Sierra felt like it really was magic. But for whatever reason she was the only one who could notice the change. Suddenly she had an idea. She went to a new page and wrote ‘The World’ as the organization.
New rule: Sierra MacLeod, Mira Chowdhury and Kenji Whitmore are the owners of this rulebook. They will always remember the world as it was before any rules were written.
She flipped back to the page with the cafe’s name on it.
Old Rule: The dress code requires female employees to be topless at all times.
“See!” She pointed at the topless barista.
Her friends followed her finger with their eyes.
“No way.” Mira said.
“Holy shit!” Ken exclaimed.
“See! I told you.”
“Wait a second, what the hell is going on?” Ken asked, “Let me see that.”
Reluctantly she let Ken take the notebook. She watched him erase the rule and saw the shirt of the barista reappear.
Ken quickly wrote something else but she couldn’t see what he was writing.
Then suddenly she felt a breeze. She looked down and saw that she was topless too!

“WHAT?!” She shrieked and covered her chest. Mira screamed too and had the same reaction. She looked around, all the women were topless, but only her and Mira were freaking out about it.
“Give me that.” With one hand still covering her chest, she ripped the notebook back from Ken.
Old Rule: The dress code requires females entering the cafe to be topless at all times but offers them a 50% discount in exchange.
Ken grinned, “You two saved me some money, so thanks!” It had been his turn to buy the drinks after all.
Sierra quickly erased it, and found their shirts returned. “Fucker.” She said to Ken.
“I can’t believe you did that.” Mira said, angrier than Sierra was.
“Oh come on, it was just for fun.” Ken said, “We need to test this thing. We could be Gods now.”
Sierra felt a chill down her back, “Yeah…we could…we need to set up some protections.”
“Right, so nobody steals the book.” Ken said.
She shook her head, “So we don’t become Gods.”
"That too." Ken said, less convincingly.
It wasn’t that she didn’t want to have fun with it. Ken’s rule was actually a little fun, she had to admit a slight thrill of being topless in public like that, but it was dangerous too. They had to be careful or they’d find themselves so corrupt that there was no coming back.
“Fine, no more rules right now. Let’s go back to your dorm and we can discuss it in private.” Ken suggested.
The other two agreed so they grabbed their cups and left.
