Dr. Stone Lets Sue Storm Figure It Out On Her Own

Manipulation was fun. It gave Moonstone pleasure to have some level of control over others. To play with their minds and emotions, to see them do what she wanted. Yet like a good chess player, Moonstone knew that sometimes it was best to let your opponent make their own mistakes.

"It was only a kiss," Sue Storm said, to fill the silence. "It doesn't have to mean anything."

Moonstone smiled softly.

"Does it feel like it meant something?" the doctor said. Just words. No gravitic nudge.

Sue Storm's jaw worked.

"You don't have to answer me now," Dr. Stone said. She glanced at her watch. "We'll pick this up next session."

So the Invisible Woman walked out into the streets of Manhattan, carrying with her unfamiliar doubts. Feelings. Secrets.

She could feel the stress in her hunched shoulders. Her nails biting into her palms. Calves bunching.

Her feet took her back to the massage parlor. Where she normally went after a session. Nairobi was working today.

The Invisible Woman was not a coward. She smiled as to the cashier as she checked in. Changed into the fluffy white robe with a nervous flutter in her stomach she hadn't felt since that very first session. She kept licking her lips.

When she entered the room, Nairobi wouldn't meet her eye. The younger woman's darker skin didn't show blushes the way Sue's pale cheekbones would. But the masseuse was wearing the necklace of Negative Zone diamonds about her slender neck, and she stole a glance as Sue effortlessly shed the robe, to reveal her naked body. Sue ducked down to catch her eye, and smiled. Nairobi, caught out, smiled back.

"I'm...sorry about before," Nairobi said. "I know that was inappropriate, I was just..."

"There's no need to apologize. I was surprised," Sue said, as she lifted herself onto the table. "I've never kissed a woman before. I didn't know how to react. I...didn't want to give you the wrong impression."

The heroine lay down. Nairobi's eyes followed her.

There was that tension between them now, as Nairobi got to work. That unspoken frisson. The question that hung in the air. Would Nairobi try to kiss her again? And if she did, how would Sue Storm respond?

Sue bit her lip as those strong hands worked her shoulder muscles. She knew one thing. She had to figure out her own feelings about Nairobi. That meant she couldn't just wait. She had to do something proactive.
