Chapter 37 by Verdant_Hatchling Verdant_Hatchling

What other gains are there?

Countless.

“I can make Labyrinths now? Cool, I guess.” Damon was happy with it, but quickly was disinterested with the prospect of it, deciding to experiment with it later.

Gaseous Wraithform, on the other hand? Damon was quite interested in that, as he lifted his right arm to the sky, and with a thought, it transformed into an intangible mass, with a similar manner of control as Blood Bending, and fully capable of expanding to an unfathomable degree, utterly encompassing the entire throne room.

Damon had the gaseous form return to his arm and reform as it was before, gently flexing his reconstituted hand, it was truly impressive, but when compared to the next one, Boundless Time Stop, it was truly insignificant.

As he began to test the truly legendary spell, he expanded an orb of bluish light from his mind, and at his discretion, he discovered Ember and Dirpe were frozen completely still, with Elgy and Glacius being frozen, as well.

With Omnikinesis, he lifted hundreds of Gold coins into the air, and when released, they were still.

After the testing, and with but a thought, the sphere absurdly expanded to encompass over a third of his floating landmass, working shockingly well.

As he was experimenting with the skill, he suddenly noticed that Insight of the Bountiful Edge had replaced the ever useful, Partial Omniscience, the formerly miniscule, in comparison, range of sight he was granted was replaced by an inconceivably nauseating scope.

As his golden eyes shone the brilliant light once more, he witnessed the world, in its entirety, to an extent which nearly brought back the blinding agony within his brain, causing him to majorly rescind the scope of the GODLY ability.

As his head was aching, Damon finally acknowledged the new shade of sight he’d never seen before, and he very much doubted anyone else had seen it either, in the entire span of existence of the Bountiful Edge.

A wondrous speck, accompanying many hundred others, shooting around a particularly horrid black hole within his sights.

As his gaze wandered, he was breathing heavily, trying to calm himself down to the best of his abilities, and as he released the immense sphere of Time Stop he’d forgotten about he felt a sudden drip from his nose.

As Damon reached to feel the liquid, he brought it to line up with his eyesight, and as he saw the drop of blood, his nose began to pour more. Though, his health was generally unaffected.

He slowly led the blood to the Barrel as he was sitting motionless on the throne, as he realized his wives had fallen asleep.

‘I need to calm down, I don’t wanna scare them.’ Damon closed his eyes, laying back on his throne, and after a few moments of near hyperventilation, he passed out.

A blank void.

An endless vacuum, though his breathing was not elusive, and his newly enhanced sight was void of all influences.

Damon couldn’t see, nor could he hear. All of his senses were numbed to a glacial degree, as he floated through the empty oblivion, the end of everything he could see.

And as he was at the end, the blood appeared.

First, it was an insignificant trickle, a single drop dripping from his nose. Every. Single. Minute.

But then, it changed. The dripping slowly increased, and from the miniscule trickle, it became a roaring river, utterly covering his form.

And as this all happened, the once empty void suddenly took a visible change.

As his gaze wandered about the space, as the blood flowed from his fickle form, drowning him in an inundation of ichor, he saw the faces of every single person he’d met so far in this world. The void was threatening to draw from him the only thing that kept him sane in this world, and as he felt that, he tossed and he turned, and in discomfort, in his rest, began to scratch at his skin till blood began to seep through.

But as the nightmarish visions began to cloud the once peaceful void, Damon felt a warm embrace, and in an instant, the discomfort was gone, replaced by a loving sense of protection, as the quiet, peaceful void returned.

“Don’t worry, just sleep, my dear.” A familiar glowing figure was watching Damon sleep, worry apparent on her face, and as she gazed at him longingly, a heavenly, cerulean form became a projection, as her astral form was levitating behind Damon’s throne.

As she was floating there, the alluring form of the apparition reached her hands out, and embraced Damon.

As she embraced him within her grasp, her melancholic face slowly shifted into an enraptured beaming as she nuzzled into his shoulder in her starry shape.

As she laid there with him in her embrace, she closed her eyes, before laying a finger atop his head, and healing Damon, and returning the peace to the void in his mind.

"What was that?"
