She knows what Razi would do. Clothed or buck naked, her Barbarian companion would go roaring into the campsite, swinging whatever she could against the Daemon.

She wishes she were here. But Razi would have her alongside, and Melira and Kaliana to back them up. And with the girls here she wouldn’t be in this situation.

Unless the bandits had captured all of them…

She hastily blames whatever malign influence the Daemon’s presence for that thought. And for the catch in her breath as she thinks it.

But Razi isn’t here, and she is too ill-equipped, off her game, and sore in all the wrong places to fight right now.

Well, not all the wrong places.

“Come on.” She murmurs over her shoulder, feeling Lorkan’s return as he crouches beside her, back in his britches, his weapon stowed away.

They creep their way out of the brush, heading out at an angle to the Daemon, eyes trained on it, as they move away from the campsite.

She feels Lorkan’s hand on her back, urging her forward as they go, and she is thankfully he cannot see the bite of her lip at his warm, masculine, authoritative touch. The confusing mix of feelings she has towards him are really starting to piss her off.

They pause a few times as the creature keens and swipes at the air, but pass through without incident, coming to the edge of the clearing.
