The Ghanral war

The Ghanral troops had started to make some headway, killing and claiming land along the way the Steelton. The watchtowers managed to keep them at bay, and were able to send word back for a larger army to amass and march to where they were needed. They would have gained even more territory if not for the watchtowers and the men stationing them.

The invaders met with resistance from the Steelton battalion. The king of Ghanral joined the fighting, inspiring his men as he cut down Steelton soldiers. The war became gridlocked for many days, my wolvir warriors helped keep the Ghanral army at bay, reducing the chance for the enemy to gain new ground.

Villages and small towns had fallen victim to the Ghanral, being destroyed and their resources plundered for use of the Ghanral kingdom. I did my best to direct my warriors during the war, Elle assisted with killing men with her bow, keeping herself at a distance. She did well, not falling to an injury or buckling under the pressure of being out of battle for so long. We managed to push the back near the borders, but not quite back into Ghanral territory.

The third of my army arrived near the end of the week. This was when bloodshed began to form.

The Ghanral seeing the wolvir army approaching had sent even more of his men to fight. The wolvir army was not as big as it used to be during the civil war, and war with the orcs in the past. Our numbers didn’t overwhelm Ghanral, especially since they brought more numbers to join. But due to my wolvir’s prowess and expertise for fighting, we managed to help in the efforts, despite our low numbers.

It stayed as a stalemate between the two kingdoms for over a month, I stayed in Steelton to oversee my own forages against the Ghanral. They had the numbers, but my forces were better fighters, we had greater chances of repelling them with some of the fine steel that the king provided us. I refused to call for more warriors back in Luna Peak, not wanting more of my army to perish in a war between the humans.

Many villages were destroyed on both sides, as Steelton had sent their own small battalion to combat against the Ghanral forces in their lands. It was swift attacked that didn’t yield much for either side.

It wasn’t until three months of fighting, had talks for negotiations been made. The king, his duke, and myself were called upon by the Ghanral king to these talks. I was surprised at why I had been asked for, but I made sure to travel with the Steelton king and the duke to these negotiations. Perhaps they had heard of the wolvir king that had been aiding Steelton in the Ghanral invasion?

It wasn’t until I arrived at the meeting point, that I was met with a familiar face, that I had not seen for some time.
