Chapter 14
by Verdant_Hatchling
Did it hurt?
Not too bad.
Damon was in pain, but not exceedingly so, especially since it was a Dragon slaying blade specifically. Damon then drew his Greatsword of Infinite Length.
With the hefty blade held within Damon’s grasp, he raised it, and as quickly as it extended, it sliced through the arm of the Dragon slaying hero.
“Ahhh! Fu…!” The hero was screaming, clutching the bloody stump with his non dominant hand. Before grabbing the fallen sword with his remaining hand.
Damon though, was quicker, tapping his face with a hefty casting of Ruin, a spell he’d never tested.
And quickly he was happy with the results, although disgusted. The hero's face was slowly beginning to slough off, as though he was melting. His screams continued until he became a heaping slop of man.
As Damon was distracted by the degenerating figure before him, the unseen attacker returned, an arrow flying through the air, Damon barely able to dodge it. But dodging it gave him the trajectory, as he instantly appeared before the source. He reached out and grasped the neck of a lithe elf. Who then promptly stabbed him with a hidden blade.
Though this one was not designed to pierce the flesh of Dragons, as it snapped before piercing his chest, doing him no damage.
The elf, though, was damaged, as Damon crushed his throat with **** ****, completely decapitating the ranger hero.
He then returned to the only hero who remained alive. He picked her up with Omnikinesis before teleporting to his home.
He reached his throne before sitting down. Damon placed the woman before him, ready to try casting Dominate Being, but before he could, some spell finally wore off.
And the human looking woman before him shifted into a Bearkin, fluffy fur sprouting across the busty figure. “She’d make a pretty good rug.” Damon joked to himself.
After calming down, Damon cast Greater Restoration on the Bearkin before him.
The fluffy woman was dazed, as she sat up from her prone position. The last thing she’d done was teleport Railin from danger before she was knocked ****.
“I killed your colleagues. The Dragon slayer and the elven rogue both fell to my might. If you’re smart, you’ll…” Damon went to continue, but was interrupted by the Bearkin, who just began to cry.
Though they didn’t seem like tears of sorrow as she groveled before him. “You… You have rescued me from the hold of those heroes. I, I am Dalia Steel-Paw, the chieftess of a Bearkin clan persecuted by the kingdom of Vynareth for decades. I…” She went to continue but was concerned of a grin appearing on Damon’s face.
“That's a relief, and your last names already Steel, won’t even have to worry about that.” Damon was cackling to himself, which was concerning to Dalia, but he then attempted calming her, “Don’t worry dear, I’m Damon Steel, nice to meet ya’, but for real, how would you feel about becoming the queen of this Vynareth?” She was left gobsmacked while he continued, “The Steel-Paw clan will rise to become the new royal family of this shitty kingdom, thus ensuring its security for some time, though it will require serious efforts to accomplish.” He waited for her response with a serious gaze upon his face.
She was even more shocked than before, “Are you being serious, Sir Steel? I don’t think I’d make a good queen, but,” She went to continue, but was interrupted by Damon.
“The first queen I instated wasn’t sure of herself either, she wasn't a hero or anyone powerful. She was a **** to a tyrannical duke who I killed in the process of his horrible ****, and not even a day after, she was appointed as Queen Elyra Lalabune, the first Harengon Queen in the known history of this world.” He was grinning widely at her, “How would you feel, dear Dalia, about being the first Bearkin Queen of the arrogant kingdom of Vynareth, or whatever you decide to call it. Your new regime being fully backed, might I add, by the Dragon King himself.” Damon shouted out, taking his Dragon Form and growing to over a hundred and fifty tall.
Leading Dalia to stubble backwards, before bowing deeply, and as solemnly as she could, she vowed to serve him to his standards, which the wording of surprised him, but was totally welcome.
He dismissed his Dragon Form and got to work creating a plan with her for the domination of the kingdom. This overthrowing would be quite different than the first, but after seven hours, Dalia was granted Construct Commander and bequeathed an army of fifty thousand ten foot tall, stone knight constructs. After a final discussion, Damon opened a portal beneath Elyra, from thousands of miles away, dropping her into his lap.
“Mr. Steel, I…” Elyra was speechless and soon disappointed, as Damon quickly set the tone, a formal meeting between the Queen of Lapus-Chalybe and soon-to-be queen of a new kingdom. After a brief discussion Damon had Dovei appear at the table they were seated at.
A council convenes.
