Sue Tells Dr. Stone About The Strip Club

"...and then Nissa gave me her card," Sue Storm said.

Dr. Stone sipped her tea before answering. The blonde heroine watched her as she absorbed the story of Sue's first visit to a strip club. Waiting with baited breath for—what? Judgment? Approval? Sue wasn't sure which she would prefer.

"How do you feel about that?" Dr. Stone asked, finally.

Sue blinked.

"I—I was curious about it. It was intriguing. Different. A little...exciting?" the Invisible Woman said, interrogating her own feelings about the matter.

"Curiosity. Yes," Dr. Stone said, and her glasses flashed as they caught the sunlight. "You asked questions. You wanted to know what it felt like."

"Yes," Sue said automatically, her thoughts derailed.

"You still want to know what it's like," Dr. Stone continued, her voice steady, the light hitting her golden hair like a halo. "You should call her. Arrange lessons."

"Lessons," Sue repeated.

"After all, you want to make a good showing when you enter that contest," Dr. Stone said.

"Contest," Sue said.

"You want to see how far you will go to win," Dr. Stone added.

"Win," Sue breathed.

Then she blinked, and shook her head. Dr. Stone sipped her tea, the trick of the light gone.

"I guess...I guess you're right. I am curious. What it's like to be up on the stage. How it feels to be so...visible," Sue said. Her mind rationalizing the ideas she'd just absorbed, as if they were her own thoughts.

Dr. Stone smiled.

"Wonderful, Susan. I'm glad you've come to this decision. Exploring your own limits will be good for you."
