Hangover

Nadia woke up. The back of her head hurt. Alice was fast asleep in her arms — drooling on her shirt, nuzzled in her breasts. So innocent. Her black hair tied up into a bun with messy bangs. Sandy freckled cheeks. Soft beige-white skin.

Nadia tried to remember how she got on the floor. And why Alice was sleeping on her. But it was all a blur.

She stroked Alice’s head to wake her up — but she just smiled and mumbled. Nadia didn’t have the heart to wake her from sleep.

What time is it? She gently lifted Alice. She was heavy despite her thin appearance. Nadia put her on the leather sofa. They were in the bar room. There were drinks on the counter.

Oh right… She remembered they were going to make margaritas. But she couldn’t recall drinking them. They must have had fun last night. Especially since her head was pounding.

She got a glass of water from the bar. Drank it. Still needing something to kill this hangover.

Alice opened her eyes. They were in the bar room. She saw Nadia. Her heart, growing tough. Nadia had slept with Neera. Neera.

“Hey… Why did you do it?” Alice said, her eyes wet and red.

Nadia was surprised. She looked at Alice who had a tense look about her.

“Do what?” Nadia said.

“You slept with Neera…” Alice said.

“I—I didn’t…” Nadia then remembered.

“GET OUT!” Alice had tackled her.

That’s when everything went black…

“Don’t make excuses…” Alice said.

Nadia walked over and sat down with Alice. She put her hand on Alice.

“I didn’t do it…” Nadia said, “She and her boyfriend asked me… But I said no…”
