Into Something…

Alice was of the Moorfield crime family. She hated it. She wanted to be free — she was nothing but a corrupted black crow in a cage.

She envied Nadia for being a white dove who chose to stay. She could literally do anything else. What about university? A real job… A real life…

But Nadia chose Alice’s dark world.

Alice told Nadia to open her own restaurant or cafe. Nadia was that good at cooking. Alice salivating on every bite.

“All you need to do is to take a mixology class and you could open a bar…” Alice joked.

“Actually…” Nadia said.

“No way!” Alice shouted.

The hotel had a small bar in the back that was not used, but Alice had kept some of the equipment and booze. Nadia went shopping that afternoon for all the ingredients for their drinks.

“Shake it like this and that,” Nadia said, shaking the metal cups. The drink was a beautiful pink with tequila and that signature sour-sweet taste. Nadia didn’t forget the salt around the rim. Margarita’s.

They got drunk. Giggling like school girls. Nadia had a lower tolerance and on the train to loonsville. Alice wasn’t far off.

“Wait… Aren’t you going to go to university?” Alice smiled.

“I am too old… Have you been?” Nadia said.

“I did… but dropped out… Bloody business and economics… Hated it… But I guess it helps for running The Pony…” Alice said.

Nadia smiled. Alice was terrible with numbers and Nadia was always rechecking them. It was better now that Neera was here. She was good at running the business side of things. But Neera ran a stressful ship.

“So has Neera ever tried to get you into something…” Nadia hiccuped,

“Into something?” Alice asked.

“Like sexually…” Nadia said.

“We slept together once… But that was a mistake,” Alice sighed.

“Wha? So she does it with everyone…” Nadia laughed.

“What do you mean?” Alice said with bitterness in her voice.

“Neera tried to get me to have sex with her and her boyfriend… He was so big…” Nadia laughed.

“And you did it?” Alice seethed, “Get out…”

“But…” Nadia tried to clarify.

“GET OUT!” Alice shouted and wrestled Nadia to the ground. Nadia hit her head — blacking out — again…
