Chapter 5 by BlueKnight BlueKnight

What's next?

The Empress dispatched the Imperial delegates headed by the Princess to negotiate with the rebel leaders

Despite having successfully given birth her children and lived on from there, Padme Skywalker nee Amidala is no longer the same person deep down in a way. While she still loved her husband dearly, who she truly loved is who he used to be back then before the Clone Wars ended.

And with her husband has little to no interests in politics and more into teaching his son the ways of the Dark Side in his way, the Empress is the one who take charge of ruling the known galaxy through the Imperial Senate and mentoring her daughter to become a politician like her.

Right now, there are rebellions across the galaxy such as those on Mandalore, Ryloth and Mimban. And with the disappearance of Grand Admiral Thrawn in the aftermath of the Siege of Lothal, the Empress pushed for peaceful negotiations with the rebel groups. And that is something that her faction within the Senate actually agreed with.

While some like the Partisans of Saw Garrera rejected the peace offer because they wanted peace on their own terms, many rebel leaders choose to hear the conditions offered by the Empress. As a result, it is agreed for the Imperial delegates and the delegates of the rebel groups to be meeting at the homeworld of the Empress, Naboo, to discuss the terms.

The collective conditions of the treaty are:

  1. The Empire ended the occupations on Ferrix, Mon Cala and Kashyyyk.
  2. The Empire and the Chiss Ascendancy recognized the independent statuses of the Mandalore Sector, the Calamari Sector and other systems and sectors that rebelled against the Empire.
  3. The Empire and all rebelled parties agreed to the truce for twelve years.
  4. The Empire allowed the Jedi Order to practice their beliefs both inside and outside of the Imperial territories.
  5. The Jedi Order is not allowed to interfere in the internal matters of the Empire.
  6. Slavery is officially abolished all over the Imperial territories.

And so, the Treaty of Naboo came to be and while her husband is not a fan of allowing the Jedi survivors to practice their beliefs openly, at least they are not allowed to interfere in the internal matters such as the governance of the Empire and he is also pleased with the proclamation of the abolition of slavery across the Imperial territories as well.

So with the approval from the Emperor and the Imperial Senate alike, the Imperial delegation headed by Princess Leia go to Naboo to present the treaty to all rebel groups who attended the meeting with her twin brother, Prince Luke, as her bodyguard.

Onboard the Star Destroyer known as the Imperial Eagle heading for Naboo, the Princess is sitting and having tea in her private chamber.

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

"Come in!" The Imperial Princess said as she's keeping her eyes on her cup of tea.

Then, the young Imperial pilot in the Imperial Navy's uniform who appeared to be roughly around her and her brother's age entered her private chamber.

"You summoned me, Princess?" The pilot asked as after he entered her chamber.

"Han Solo, am I correct?" Leia asked as she turned to look at him slowly.

"That is my name, Your Majesty." Han said as he keeps his eyes on the walls and do not look at her.

"Do you know why I summoned you here?" The Imperial Princess asked him as she's putting her teacup down on the table and get up from her chair to look at him.

"I do not and I dared not to guess." The young pilot said as he's doing his best to not be bothered by her beauty.

"I summoned you because I have a job for you." Leia said as she raised her head a little to look at him.

"And how may I be of your service, Your Majesty?" Han asked, wondering what task she will given him.

"After this meeting is over and the treaty is signed, what left of the Empire to fight are just gangs of pirates such as the Crimson Dawn and the Black Sun." The Imperial Princess said as she is looking at him.

"You wanted me to locate their bases, Your Majesty?" The pilot asked her back.

"No. I wanted you to infiltrate one of them, learn what you can about their operations, find out who their leader is and gain the leader's trust." Leia said as she's placing her hands on her hips.

Will Han take this job?
