by FantasyRoulette
What do you do?
Use your magic
You focus your powers, whispering the arcane words of "Charm Person" as the farmer turns toward you. He blinks and his expression softens.
You ask him for a horse, the farmer puts the mug of ale on a table and says
"Ah, friend! Of course, you can borrow my horse, is in the back, let me help you, the old Kraken is a fine horse, he's fast, intelligent, and knows the fields very well!"
He helps you adjust the bridle, chatting as if you’ve known each other for years. You carefully, ask about local legends, like a stone or a magic artifact in the sout west of the farms.
"The stone, eh? Heard tales of that myself! They say that the rich people in the big farm southwest of here, become rich because of a secret in their barn, maybe a stone, no one knows! but they are VERY rich! but be careful friend, they are shady people they make deals with the horsemen gang."
With a final pat to Kraken’s flank, the farmer says "Good luck girl! Bring me back a souvenir! and remember, stay away from the big farm! avoid trouble!"
You ride southwest, and after a few hours, you arrive at the big farm, it's a fortress of wealth and secrets. The stone is close. You notice an underground entrance on a hill and the barn... but you have already the information, the secret is in the barn.
