"It’s about Joey," Bianca continued, "I was hoping that you and I could have a chat about him."
And just like that, all the light playfulness in Donna’s mind sharpened into something else. She remembered what Joey had explained. It had been the same thing that he'd explained to Donna. Her secret. Her special treasure.
Maybe it wasn't just for her. Maybe she wasn't alone in it.
"You're the waiter from last night, correct?" Donna said.
"Yeah. My name's Bianca, and I just learned that Joey is allowed to touch me whenever and however he wants. And you are...?"
Donna Granger smiled instinctively at the thought of Joey, and everything he meant to her. But then her smile faltered.
Donna brow furrowed. She blinked a few times as the fog lifted. She needed to ground herself. She looked at her desk. The picture of her daughter Juniper. Her son Nick.
Nick. Something about him looked different. Maybe it was because of Joey. Her Joey now. Not just her son's best friend. The man who had full access to her body. He could touch her however he wanted to.
Was that why thinking of Nick was so odd? After Joey Granger had explained women like her were drawn to his energy, his charm... He was the exact type of guy that made girls who were popular in high school like that lose their minds, she had seen things so clearly. She couldn't deny she found her own son far more attractive after Joey's wonderful explanation. But it wasn't unreasonable for her to not want other men to touch her. That was just for Joey. Besides, Donna Fowler would never do that with her own son.
Maybe she felt a moment of guilt for lusting over her son's best friend.
But it had been so long since a man had touched her, right? Her memories seemed a bit thin, and yet at the same time they were somehow more clear than ever. Her husband had passed away. Mr. Fowler had died... some number of years ago. It wasn't that long, right? She didn't seem to care that she couldn't think of his name. Why bother now that she had Joey. Besides, the man had left her to take care of their daughter Juniper, and their young son Nick. She knew that she had been suffocating in that house, now that her mother-in-law lived in Juniper's old room, it was just her and her alarmingly attractive son. Thank God Nick's friend was _way _hotter.
Donna bit her lip, and wondered if Nick would take pictures of Joey for her. Maybe in the locker room. See that lean body in the prime of life. The thought made her tingle all over.
"My name's Donna. Donna Fowler." Donna said before picking up her the landline telephone on her desk. "Alice. Yes, this is Mrs. Fowler. Please cancel the rest of my meetings for the day. Yes. She did. She's here now in fact. Yes. We have a lot to talk about."
Donna hung up the phone and smirked as she gestured for Bianca to take a seat.
