Chapter 85 by The Night

Violet see through floor length cape

Velvet Vixen stands in front of the mirror, holding up the dramatic purple silk cape, admiring the way it catches the light—a soft, sheer trail of violet that drifts like smoke when it moves. It’s gorgeous. Glorious. Utterly gala-worthy.

She fastens it around her collarbones, strikes a pose—

—and immediately grimaces.

“Ugh. Shoulder coverage? Absolutely not.”

It hides her favorite feature—the smooth curve of her bare shoulders framed by the sweetheart neckline of her corset. That simply won’t do.

She unclasps the cape from her front, then tilts her head, thinking.

“Let’s rework this.”

A few pins. A bit of clever sewing. Some curse words and a glass of cheap white wine later, and she has it: the cape now attaches at the back of her corset, leaving her shoulders and upper back gloriously bare, while still flowing behind her like a sheer violet veil.

It’s just translucent enough to tease, not enough to hide—and trails dramatically to the floor like she's walking through fog.

“Oh yes. That’s the look.”

Velvet Vixen turns slowly in front of the mirror, cape whispering around her legs, heels catching the light. From the mask to the skirt to the gloves to the now-perfect cape, she’s the very picture of glamor, mystery, and trouble-in-a-dress.

“McKenna’s not ready. Westville’s not ready. I’m not even sure I’m ready.”

One final step remains.
