Chapter 104 by Dandyman Dandyman

What's next?

Good news travels

I pulled my great-axe from the former orc chiefs skull, a geyser of blood escaped and Bone-crusher’s body fell limp onto the floor. His corpse signalled the end of the war between orc and wolvir.

The bodyguards of Bone-crusher looked nervous and unsure at what had transpired, perhaps they thought that their chief would win. No matter, the superiority of wolvir won out, showing that I was victorious.

My father stepped up to my side, I turned to see a triumphant smile on his face.

“Well done my son, I knew you would be victorious.” He praised.

“What of them?” I pointed to the remaining orcs.

“Simple. We’ll kill them, send a message to any other orc in the area that wolvir do not spare irc kind.” My father said bluntly.

The orcs eyes widened in fear and understanding, their lives were now forfeit. They didn’t it up much of a fight, especially knowing that they were outnumbered by our wolvir forces. Once the last of the orcs were dead, father commanded to take any and all valuables for the dwarves. Then he ordered that the stronghold to be put to the torch, as a tribute to the gods.

I stood by my father outside the confines of the stronghold. I watched as the flames locked up the side of the keep, the battered walls from our siege weapons had debris littered all over the ground. The corpses of orcs were being consumed by the fire, the bodies of our fallen warriors were taken out and were to have a proper burial for their commitment to the war.

“Beautiful, isn’t it?” Father asked me as we both kept our sights forward onto the now engulfed stronghold.

“Yes. Lupe would be proud.” I said to my father.

“The spoils of war will go to the dwarves, as you know.” Father explained. “I’ll have a trusted warrior of mine complete the task.

“Congratulations father, thanks to you we have won this war.”

“Not just me, but you yourself were an integral part in winning against the orcs.” He told me. “Remember, you single-handedly killed the orc chief, and brought about an end to the fighting.”

He was right, I did defeat the orc chief and resulted in his ****. I felt a swell of pride manifest inside me, knowing that what I had accomplished today would be chronicled down in our history.

We rode back side by side and in content, the chill of the wind was barely acknowledging my natural resistance to cold. I thought of the future, a little more clearer on my goals now that the orc war was complete. If I could participate in a war like that, and survive, but also thrive, then what Lupe has set out for me was to become more achievable.

This was a cause for celebration, and I knew upon our return the wolvir would rollick and be merry. This would involve plenty of drink, sex and fights, I was looking forward to it.

About halfway home, a wolvir on horseback met us from the direction of Luna Peak. He recognised me and came up to address me.

“Fenrin. I have news.” He said.

“What news?” I queried. Had something happened whilst I was away.

“Your mate, she is in labour. I was asked to ride to inform you as soon as possible.” He hurriedly told me.

Elle was in labour, soon to give birth to my pup. I felt another swell of pride that accompanied it from my earlier victory over the orc chief.

“What are you waiting for, son.” Father said to me. “You’ll be faster on your own, your horse will take the extra strain.”

He was right. I needed to ride back home quickly for the north of my son. With a snap from my reins and a kick to my horses side, I rode in a adamant speed to race back in time for the north of my pup.
