Chapter 132 by Calamity_Jim
What's next?
After a Busy Day
The weight of the day pressed down on you, exhaustion seeping into every fiber of your being. Even though you had put on a strong front after the ritual, the physical toll of your transformation had begun to make itself known. More than anything, you longed for sleep. Unlocking the door to your apartment, you expected your partners to be in bed already. Instead, you were met with a warm and unexpected sight.
All of them had fallen asleep in the living area, clearly having tried to stay up late to welcome you home. Lisbeth, with her broad, muscular frame, was seated on the couch, her powerful arms crossed even in sleep. Draped across her lap was Lexi, curled up like a cat, her petite frame nestled comfortably against the minotaur’s warmth. She hugged Lisbeth like she was a cherished stuffed animal. Morgana rested on the other side of the couch, her normally well-defined humanoid shape softened in her slumber, the pink and purple hues of her slime body shifting gently with each slow breath.
On the floor, Kiri and Cerena had made a makeshift sleeping area with bedding and pillows taken from the bedroom. Kiri lay behind Cerena, her emerald chitin shimmering under the dim apartment lights. Though technically naked, the patterns on her exoskeleton resembled an elegant green lace bodysuit. Her mantis-like arms were carefully folded as she held Cerena close. Cerena had a peaceful expression as she buried her face in Kiri’s chest, her fluffy black tail occasionally twitching. Soft snores escaped her lips, betraying the usual intensity that she carried while awake.
A small smile tugged at the corners of your lips. The warmth of this moment, the sight of them all waiting for you—even if they hadn’t managed to stay awake—filled you with something more potent than any magic. You stepped further into the room and noticed a note left on the dining table, the edge missing a chunk–evidence of past destruction by Lisbeth.
The note was in her surprisingly delicate handwriting: "Dinner's in the fridge if you're hungry. Love you."
There was no signature, only a small heart drawn at the bottom. A simple gesture, yet it carried a weight that settled comfortably in your chest. Lucky didn’t even begin to describe how you felt. Blessed, maybe. But then again, did the gods bless devils?
Speaking of which, keeping up the illusion magic you had used in public was becoming more draining by the minute. You let it dissipate, allowing your full form to reveal itself. Your once-human skin darkened, the leathery black and purple tones creeping over your body like bleeding paint. Your fingernails sharpened into sleek, obsidian claws, and the amethyst flames on your horns flickered softly, casting faint purple glows against the walls. Your tail swayed lazily behind you as your wings stretched and unfurled, a satisfying relief after keeping them concealed. The feeling of your true form settling in was oddly comforting, like slipping out of tight shoes after a long journey.
Curiosity tugged at you, and you crept your way to the bathroom. The full-length mirror reflected the being you had become. It was strange, seeing yourself like this—not unsettling, just different. Your body had changed so much, yet remnants of the old you remained. Your eyes, now a striking purple with black sclera, still carried the same expressions. Your sharper, more bestial teeth were still revealed by your familiar smile. You weren’t just some monstrous entity; you were still you. The doughy tired looking man you once were—now a regal and terrifyingly gorgeous picture of demonic perfection.
Satisfied with the new you, you washed up before stepping back into the living room. While Lisbeth’s home-cooked meal was tempting, exhaustion won out over hunger.
You moved toward the sleeping arrangement on the floor, deciding to slide in behind Kiri. Carefully tucking one wing in, you draped the other over her and Cerena like a blanket. Kiri stirred slightly, her antennae twitching as she sensed your presence.
“Husband? Welcome home,” she murmured, her voice somewhat sleepy. She instinctively pressed herself against you, seeking warmth.
“Hey, Love Bug,” you whispered, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her closer. She cooed softly in response, her exoskeletal plating cool against your skin.
“I assume your meeting went well?” she asked, her monotone voice carrying a subtle curiosity.
You chuckled. “Yeah. I’m a whole new me.”
Kiri hummed thoughtfully, then whispered, “You sound fatigued. Did they wear you out?”
The concern in her voice touched you. It was almost surreal, thinking back to when you first met her—a deadly mantis woman who had recently impaled you against a wall with the intention of eating you. Now, she spoke to you with the tenderness of a devoted wife.
“I’m great now,” you reassured her. “There’s nothing more I need than a good night’s sleep, surrounded by all of you.”
Kiri shifted slightly. “Do you want to change positions? Cerena is much softer than I am. You’ll sleep more comfortably.”
“No, no.” You held her firmly in place, preventing her from moving. “This is perfect. Besides, your body feels nice and cool. I laid down here because I wanted to sleep next to you.”
You felt her body temperature subtly shift—a telltale sign of her arousal. Her pheromones whispered their own story, filling the space between you.
“Easy there, honey,” you murmured, amused. “Let’s get some rest for now.” You nuzzled against the back of her head, inhaling the faint scent of her shampoo, something herbal and crisp.
“Tomorrow then?” she asked, her voice still calm, but with an unmistakable edge of anticipation. “In exchange for using my body for comfort, I get to be with you first.”
Her moment of selfishness made you smile.
“Of course, love. I promise.”
“Good,” she whispered, sounding pleased. “Goodnight, my mate.”
“Goodnight, Kiri.”
The apartment was silent, save for the rhythmic breathing of your partners. As your body finally gave in to exhaustion, you let yourself drift into the kind of sleep only the truly content could experience.
