Chapter 2 by Sozka14
Who's first?
Haimet, Viis Spearsister
Many years before the events of Shadowbringers
Haimet stalked through the Greatwood in silence. She and her sisters had been seeking the source of a disturbance in the forest, steel traps left on animal trails and more than a few campfires left smoldering dangerously. Now the three of them approached a small clearing where the canopy thinned. The bright, unnatural light shone down onto a camp clustered around an airship.
She crouched at the edge of the shadows and watched the purple clad men while they worked to disassemble the camp and pack several large cages onto the airship. Cages carrying animals from around the forest! She leant over to whisper into her sisters ear.
"Maimet, you see the cages? They cage these noble beasts, and now they are taking them away... We have to stop them here!"
"Sister, we are only three, ive counted a dozen of these men at least. And the shadows cannot hide us past here... I feel your rage as well, but we cannot risk our lives here. We must bring this news back to the village and be viligant if they return."
Haimet sighed, and grit her teeth. She turned back to the camp and stared, straining her large rabbit ears to listen for voices or other clues as well. Under the chatter of the men and the distressed cries of the animals she caught another sound that brought pinkness to her face. She didnt have long for her imagination to work before she spotted the source of the sounds.
They emerged from one of the tents nearest the airship. First a man obviously above the rest in station, wearing a long and regally embroidered robe and pulling on rope. Then a woman emerged from the tent behind him, wearing nothing but the other end of the rope tied around her body in a net like pattern. Haimet nearly exploded.
"Who is that! He has one of our sisters!" She hissed at Maimet, whos face paled in recognition.
"There was not supposed to be anyone else away from the village, the elders forbid it until we found the source of the disturbance. She must have been caught before we noticed!" Her sister said before Haimet stood and drew her spear from her back.
"This will not stand, they will pay here and now for this insult." She lowered her spear and set off at a dead sprint, before her sister could stop her, into the light...
How does she fare?
