Clean up and go get dinner

While Melissa went to take a shower, Jonathan got dressed and summoned about a dozen blue tentacles to clean up any messes. They were done in two minutes.

Jonathan had only just awakened his mutant powers earlier this year. Initially, he could only summon a single tentacle and he had absolutely no control over it.

Jonathan’s mutant powers works by enabling him to open a small portal which connects to another universe which he now calls Tao. The tentacles were part of an entity in Tao, which Jonathan had no control over. Thus whenever he opened a portal to Tao, a tentacle would just pop out of it and furiously try to lash out and wreck everything in range.

Things changed after Jonathan inherited the infinity stones. Thanks to the space stone, he acquired the ability to open multiple portals of variable sizes. But most importantly, it allowed him to travel through these portals to Tao.

In Tao, Jonathan discovered an entire universe inhabited by only two cosmic entities which had consumed everything else and were now locked in an endless mortal struggle against one another. However, these two entities were evenly matched and could not make any meaningful progress against each another, thus achieving an eternal equilibrium of constant, vicious struggle.

The first cosmic entity in Tao was the originator of the blue tentacles. It was a biological psionic entity. Meanwhile, the second entity was a metallic energy entity. For lack of a better name, Jonathan called these cosmic entities Yin and Yang respectively.

When Jonathan first arrived in Tao, the two entities reacted by trying to eliminate him. However they stopped when they sensed the power of the infinity stones within him. Through instinct, Jonathan quickly realized that Yin and Yang were each interested in different stones.

The Yin, being a psionic entity, was intrigued by the psionic energy given out by the mind stone. Meanwhile, the Yang seemed to be captivated by the energy emanating from the power stone.

Long story short, Jonathan eventually tamed the two cosmic entities by periodically giving them energy treats from his mind and power stones. Yin and Yang basically became his pet dogs which he trained to sit, roll over, play dead, and a whole bunch of other shit. He was able to form a permanent bond with the two by using the power of the soul stone to imprint his soul onto them and vice versa, thus giving him synergistic control over these two entities when he summons parts of them out of his portals.

Both entities were highly dynamic. The Yin possessed forms other than tentacles which Jonathan could also summon. Meanwhile, the Yang was an entity of living metal that could take on various technological forms. Thus far, Jonathan hadn’t had the chance to fully explore the full potential of his mutant powers. He was just having too much fun with his infinity stone powers right now.

Jonathan finished up cleaning the house and headed outside to pick up some food for his family.
