The following week, Alex observes the fruits of his influence throughout Westwood Academy. "The board is impressed as well," Hoffman continues. "They're discussing expanding the protocols to all grade levels."
Alex raises an eyebrow. "All grade levels? I'd recommend limiting the advanced protocols to juniors and seniors. The research indicates neural receptivity is optimal post-sixteen."
"Of course," Hoffman nods seriously. "We'll maintain basic physical affirmation for the younger students only."
Alex suppresses a chuckle at how easily she accepts his completely invented developmental theories.
"There is one more aspect of the model we haven't yet implemented," he ventures, testing how far his influence extends.
"Oh?" Hoffman looks intrigued.
"Group recognition protocols," Alex explains. "The research shows that peer observation of achievement recognition creates a powerful motivational environment through something called 'achievement contagion.'"
Hoffman's brow furrows. "You mean conducting the protocols in front of other students?"
"Exactly," Alex nods. "The Scandinavian data indicates it multiplies the effectiveness by creating aspirational modeling. Students who observe peers receiving advanced recognition develop stronger motivation to excel."
"Fascinating," Hoffman muses. "Though that would require significant scheduling adjustments."
"The most effective implementation would be dedicated Recognition Seminars," Alex suggests. "Perhaps Friday afternoons, when student attention traditionally wanes. We could select the week's highest achievers for public recognition."
He holds his breath, waiting to see if he's finally pushed too far. But Hoffman is already making notes.
"I'll present this to the board next week," she says decisively. "If the results match what we've seen from the individual protocols, I anticipate full support."
The first "Recognition Seminar" exceeds even Alex's twisted expectations. Held in the lecture hall, it features the week's five highest-achieving female students seated on stage, with their male instructors standing behind them. In the audience, the student body watches with a mixture of envy and anticipation.

Amelia, a petite Asian girl with straight black hair, stands nervously. Her biology teacher, Mr. Roberts, positions himself in front of her.
"The protocol will begin with standard preparation," Alex narrates as if this were an educational demonstration.
