You get some time to yourself

Walking into the dinning room it is empty. A few people were still putting out food as you walked to the pillar and get your plate. No one pays you any attention, you barely little illusion it is just because they want to get their work done, you are left alone because you are presumed to be a noble and they are not.

Grabbing some fruit and honeyed meat you sit at the table and start to eat and think. There is a lot for you think about. In the last few days you've, entered into and began two official courtship with the daughters or two different duchesses, both of who think you are the son of a Duke of the Extier Plains.

Vatarie was undergoing some form of transformation seemingly because of you that she understood on some level and was apposed to you understanding it.

Asune was at best a sociopath who decided you were as well and was fixating on you, when she figured out that wasn't the case she might not react well, or worse she might be right.

You are also in an undefined relationship with Edin who has, well as far as you can figure out is trans but you don't know how that works in this world.

Anastasia has let you in on what might be her end goal, you aren't sure if that is true or if there is more to it, she wants to be Queen at the expense of her older and twin sister and who knows what she'd do if the Queen doesn't support her.

You've accidentally gotten involved with the Church of Nurture through what could be literal divine intervention though you were skeptical about that, you'd never seen divine intervention before, if your being here wasn't literal divine intervention to begin with.

Lastly you've learned your not average or below. Your father wasn't just lying to you he was paying your teacher to lie to you. One reason could be that he wanted to temp you, if you'd grow up knowing your power it could have detached you from others, though he also didn't encourage you to socialise much so that might be partly incorrect. Another possibly was to encourage growth, always being told you were average had certainly encouraged your development.

You hand went to the ring dangling around your neck, thinking about your father reminding your of it's existence. And there was this, thing. You looked down your nose at the metal loop, rolling it around a fingertip you slipped inside it. A gift from the mother who died in your child birth. Could she have known some part of you, that you would be powerful, or even that your mind wasn't from this world. If there was divine intervention in your existence here did it happen when your conscious came her or was it some sort of long term plan.

You took a bite of fruit and tapped your fingers on the table. With so much to think about you knew you wouldn't have time to think about everything. There were two things of important, long term and short term. The long term were Anastasia's plan, your engagement with the Church, and your mother's ring. You let the ring go and listed the short term. Vatarie and Asune were going to come to a head sooner or later. Edin wasn't something you could do anything about yourself.

You ate some meat chewing as the most important thing was not the most urgent. Vatarie and Asune, while your cover as a upper noble was holding and you figured that Anastasia's work on that front would hold out for some time, that didn't mean it would go smoothly. You didn't know much about courtship in this world but you might run into a problem if a part of it was talking to parents. You had two solutions. One was to try and end things with the both of them. The other was to come clean, it would need to happen sooner or later and the longer things go on the more conflict coming clean would cause. However coming clean would mean ruining Anastasia cover.

You leaned back and ran a hand through your hair, how did things get so complex so quickly. You came to the academy to learn, though so far that learning was limited. Your classes were introductory for now. At least there was Stephanie's, that class was going to teach you a lot of new things.

You shoved food into your mouth, annoyed at the sudden lack of control over your own life. You couldn't really do anything about anything. All of your options came down to keep going as you have been or cut and run. Though when it came to cutting and running you can fly and are powerful, there wasn't much of a limit to your ability to do both.

Finishing your food you decided that you had to make one decision and stick with it. And that decision was that you didn't want to be involved with the Church. This world and your last were very different when it came to organised religion and you knew you were prejudice against organsied religion in this world because of it, but with how things were going with the sisters you didn't want to become this worlds religious figure head. It was probably your ego that made you think that was a possibility but that it was made you uncomfortable.

With your anti-religious decision made you finished eating. You looked around the room and saw it was still empty. There were even people still walking food out. You must have activated your magic without thinking about to give yourself more time. That was something your hadn't really thought about. You'd assumed everyone could speed themselves up but that wasn't correct. Guess that means you'll have a lot more time to think about things than you thought.

You leaned back and waited. You could think about things more but you were going to come to the same conclusion every time, all you really could do was leave or play along. Though there were two things you could decide on, Asune and Vatarie.

Pursuing or allow any relationship with Asune to develop was going to at one point or other end with her trying to get you to torment someone for her enjoyment. And you didn't want to do that. She may not accept you cutting the relationship off, but that didn't mean you had to make it easy for her.

You liked Vatarie, she was direct and more than a little self-possessed but you liked her. That meant you had to figure out what her transformation was about. You activated your magic to give yourself time to think then figured it out. Every time her attraction spiked because of your smell was because you'd used magic, and since it's you, a lot of magic. You'd never learned of anyone transforming before so you didn't know if the transformation was because she was exposed to lots of magical residue or because she was attracted to you and that attraction is the cause on it's own. That thought did lead to a rather obvious one, did she like you or did she like your magic. In this word that was basically liking someone for their appearance. You barely knew each other so you could hardly fault her for that, you also liked her because she was hot.

Deactivating your magic you wondered if you could cover the residue somehow. You'd read a little about magical residue which let you know it had been purely theoretical since no one had found a way to prove it's existence, and consequentially there weren't any explained ways to clean it off.

You sighed. It didn't really matter if you could clean it off or not, if you wanted a relationship with Vatarie you had to at some point deal with it as a fact of your combined relationship. So all you had to do was sit her down and talk about things clearly. Though at this point being alone with her meant sex was happening. You were far from opposed to sex with her but if she freaked out because she transformed halfway through it might make talking about it much harder.

You looked at the door as you felt Lucia walk inside. She waved at you and joined you shortly after, sitting opposite you. You made small talk, avoiding mention of events last night. After a bit the sisters arrived Auria sitting next to you and Oriana next to Lucia, Auria being very touchy feeling with you, pressing her chest against you as much as she could, Oriana was also much more relaxed, no talk of religion which made you not want to bring up how you wouldn't be attending Church.

Vatarie arrived soon after sitting on your free side. She leaned her head on your should and yawned before breathing deeply and nuzzling into you neck. Guess that confirms your theory about her attraction to your magic. Asune showed up soon after. She sat on Lucia's other side leaving the girl more than a little nervous, Asune's presence did make people uncomfortable and that didn't seem to be changing. Asune looked at Auria and you, you could see her making plans you wanted to cut off but now wasn't really the right time to say you weren't going to engage in sexual **** of Auria for her pleasure.

Everyone chatted amongst each other civilly, aside from Asune who sat quietly and only talked to you. Edin's absence was a notable absence and you were getting worried about him. When breakfast ended and you made your way to classes you looked for Anastasia, if Edin was anywhere it would be with her.
