… stuck in the Broken Drum

You take a step outside and then something really weird happens.

You’re stepping back into the bar. It’s like you’ve been turned around or something. Is it a glitch. This was a game buy also felt like reality. The Broken Drum is no longer empty and being cleaned by Bob. It’s full of the normal regulars. More importantly you’re neither drunk nor hungover. Your stylish dress is back the way it was, dry and clean and not smelly. Like a scene reset in a game. Yeah, weird.

“Oh what the fuck?” You turn around and step back outside irritably. And again you step right back into the bar.

“Hey Ivy,” Bob says as he waves, polishing a glass at the bar.

“Um… hi… weren’t you just closing up?” You ask.

“Huh? Not for hours yet. The night is still young…” he says. “You ok Ivy? We’re good right? After last night…?”

You blink. “Oh. Yeah… so last night happened. I drank Absinthe. We went to the back room… yeah. Yeah. All good. But no more absinthe for me.”

Bob nods. “I don’t think I’m your usual type though, ok?” Bob says.

“My usual type? Oh you mean you don’t take pink pills? Yeah… I get it.” You say as you head to your usual seat.

It looks like you’re stuck here. You look around. Dredd and Bruce are waiting for someone to gamble with. There are three other girls here.

“Ivy? Drink?”

“Can I have a… a Bubba Zipple please? The Lemon Zip please.” It’s expensive but you don’t want to get drunk.,Bob pours you one of the X-Change life soda’s. It’s tart and sweet and yummy. You drink it down.

“Action point restored!” A disembodied voice observes.

“Hmmm. Can I have a Cherry Pop?” You ask. Bob serves you and you drink the cherry drink. “XP boosted by 25% today!” the disembodied voice informs you.

“I can get XP… um status window.”

Your status window appears, shimmering before you. No one seems to notice… or care? There is a picture of you in it and everything.

“Hmmm… I have an inventory. What’s in there?” You wonder as you touch the screen. Pills, Cards, Items, Plan and Portrait. You select pills.

You turn from the screen to check your purse and find an assortment of pink pills. You have two of every kind of pill available in the game, plus two plus pills. Plus there are also two black market clone pills and a pack of Edge pills.

You turn back to the screen and select items.

Again you turn back to look inside your purse to find the pills replaced with a large double ended dildo.

Right. You did set up Ivy’s parameters. But it’s strange how when you select something on the screen you do it in reality. And it can change reality.
