Launch your cyberattack

You sit with Aurora, sharing in the space of her small cyberdeck inspired PC. The small space adds a feeling of intimacy to the already close physical closeness of you two.

"My program has scraped quite a bit of data on AWIO's network." Aurora begins. "It seems that, at least on Emily's level, and a few above her, nobody has any clue what went on. So whoever we're looking for, they must be pretty high in the food chain. Everything I've seen so far looks like legitimate agency business." Aurora explains her findings to you.

You open a copy of the org chart. "Sounds like we have a target for our phishing campaign then." You say as you point out some top players of AWIO. "We might have to use one of these lower level folks to get access up here though. Use lateral movement and a trusted person that we compromise via malware. Like here." You say as you point out some director's assistants.

"Hm, good idea. I can make that happen, then send a message as the assistant to open a link as part of a meeting or something. Speaking of, I'm ready to test my custom backdoor trojan."

"Sure, use the VM. Just take a snapshot first, it has just the standard antivirus on it, nothing really special." You reply.

You and Aurora spend time testing the trojan she authored. It's pretty good, silent, masquerading, and works with her other program to copy emails and files away in a trickle so it doesn't appear like anything's exiting the network unnaturally.

Everything is as perfect as you two can make it on relatively short notice. "So what should we call our phishing campaign?" Aurora asks.

"To the directors? Just "meeting invite" for something, or request to join a meeting. To the assistant? Hmmm. Maybe something about a financial statement or something like that." You say.

Aurora nods, "Yeah, that sounds like it'll work." She says as she gets to work crafting the phishing email and bogus email accounts. It doesn't take long for her to finish. "You ready, Jack?" She asks.

You nod, and with that, you hit send.
