Some time later

Another week has passed and today it’s typical afternoon after school for Kyle, Max and Kate.

They are currently hanging out in Kyle’s dorm room. Max was resting on his couch reading one of Kyle’s novels with her legs crossed. Kyle and Kate on the other hand were cuddling on the bed with their clothes still on.

Kyle was wearing his usual loose white t shirt and pair of black sport shorts whereas Kate is wearing her usual sleeping wear consisting of a t shirt and a pair of long green pants. Max on the other hand was wearing one of her boyfriend’s t shirt and a pair of shorts.

Kyle looked at his other girlfriend sitting on the couch reading one of his novels. It was some Technothriller written by Tom Clancy titled “Red Storm Rising”. One of his favorites as it felt relatable and accurate to what was happening in the current world which he found interesting.

“Maxie, sweetie?” Kyle said lazily getting her attention.

“Yeah?” Max responded.

“Do you want to join us?”

“I didn’t want to disturb the two of you but since you asked.” She placed the book on his couch and stood up, joining her boyfriend on his bed snuggling next to him closely before planting a kiss on his cheek and giggled.

Kyle looked at his girlfriend and smiled. “That’s better.” The three lovers just spent the entire time listening to some music that was being blasted from Kyle’s computer while staring at the ceiling dreaming. But both Max and Kate noticed that their boyfriend wasn’t so happy as if there’s something on his mind.

“Baby what’s wrong?” Max asked.

“Yeah, you don’t feel so happy today.” Kate added.

“What do you mean? Don’t I always look moody?” Kyle said lazily.

“You seemed troubled, maybe you could tell us see if we help you.” Kate said. “The biggest problem about you is that you seemed to always keep everything to yourself. Just remember that we are always here for you if you need to talk.” Kate comforts her boyfriend speaking based on her previous experience when she almost taken her own life but in the end stopped thanks to Max which happened before Kyle was transferred to Blackwell.

Kate wrapped her arms around Kyle’s neck pulling him closer to her embracing him. Max the other hand reaches Kyle’s hand and holds it intertwining their fingers together.

“Thanks Angel. You and Maxie are always the best.” Kyle stroked Kate’s hair with his other hand. He then turned to Max. “It’s actually about Chloe.”

“What?” Max was surprised. “Why Chloe?”

“Well you see…” Kyle started.

Flashback few hours ago:

Kyle is currently hanging out with Justin Williams outside the school entrance after school where his looked at Justin and his skater friends performing some cool and sick skateboarding moves.

Justin skates towards Kyle and stopped. He stepped off from his board and said “Come on dude, you’ve been hanging out with us for sometime. You should get yourself a skateboard.” Justin said.

Kyle was leaning by the railing. He pushed up adjusting his sunglasses, a pair of cheap possibly knock off ray band aviators and looked at Justin

“I’d like to but do you have any money on hand?” Kyle joked offering his hand to Justin as if he’s asking for money. “Besides, I’m planning to go fishing soon and I’m currently saving up for a fishing rod.”

“Fishing? Pfft man you’re lame!” Justin slapped Kyle’s palm scoffing then crossed his arms.

“Lame? I’ve took part in some other not so ‘lame’ activities before I’ve even came here.”

“Whatever man, just keep boasting.”

“It’s up to you to believe.” Kyle shrugged his shoulders.

Soon a vehicle pulled up the driveway. It was a truck and it looked pretty beat up with the doors rusted. The driver exited the truck and slammed the door then walked towards Justin.

“Look who’s here!” One of Justin’s friends exclaimed.

“Hey hey guys!” A familiar voice called out loudly. Kyle turned and looked, it was Chloe still in her same outfit as he saw her for the first time last week. “Hey Justin!” She greeted walking towards him and fist bumped Justin.

“How’d you doing Chloe?” Justin asked.

“As usual!”

She then turned towards Kyle. “Hey handsome!” She greeted with her voice changed to a softer tone, she raised her fist to Kyle offering to give him a fist bump. Kyle, as a sign of respect, raised his fist and bumped her back making Chloe smiled.

“So how’d you and Max doing?” Chloe asked.

“Doing well I guess?” Kyle replied casually adjusting his shades looking away. He’s still a bit annoyed with what happened last week at the diner when he met Chloe for the first time even though he felt a bit bad for her after listening to Max.

“Hey.” Chloe snapped her fingers getting Kyle’s attention. “Can I… talk with you privately?”

“Sure… I guess so.” Kyle followed Chloe to the driveway.

“Hey man look…” the blue haired girl started. “About last week…” She sighed. “listen, I had a smoke out that previous night and was still pretty baked in the morning. I didn’t mean to embarrass you and Max. I…I…I came here to apologize.” Chloe continued to explain. “I could understand the reason you left me on read that night when I texted you.”

Kyle rolled his eyes about Chloe’s excuse of her being high but good thing he is wearing sunglasses.

But deep down, Kyle didn’t know what to say to be honest. On one hand he’s still a bit furious about last week but on the other hand he wanted to give Chloe a chance since it’s his girlfriend’s best friend. Not to mention he also left Chloe on read that night when she first texted him so they’re probably even?
