Kama (Longing)

The yoga society quickly became a tightly woven community within Beacon academy. The original 21 members and their guru, Yatsuhashi, were regular attendees. Their yoga classes grew in attendance as friends of members were invited to join them.

The ratio of men and women in the yoga society remained slanted towards a female majority even as they grew. Fox and Yatsuhashi received a lot of attention as a result. Though Coco also appreciated engaging with a large pool of women that were potentially "flexible". Velvet soon became curious on what kind of stretches her teammates were participating in behind closed doors. Her rabbit ears would catch whispers of clandestine affairs...

Under normal circumstances, Yang would dive headfirst into the pool of hot and loose singles surrounding her. It was her original intention when she joined the yoga society. However, now Yang felt like she needed some connection with more substance. Something was brewing within her: a longing for love. Deep love that could pierce her heart and fill her soul. Yang exercised patience to let her connections grow organically rather than rushing into the bedroom with whoever became available to her.

Ren on other hand found himself in the middle of a conundrum. Ren had a longing for answers to questions that he didn't fully understand himself. He spoke to Yang the most out of everyone in the yoga society. The more Ren began prying into Yang's personal life, the more inclined he felt to reveal about himself.

What was your childhood like? How was your relationship with your mother? Do you have any other family in Mistral?

Before you know it, Yang and Ren have shared details about their past which they've never divulged before. While Ren's questions were focused on the past, Yang's questions were focused on the future.

What are your plans for your first year after graduation? Do you ever plan on working in Mistral as a huntsman? What is your bucket list?

Ren almost felt exposed around Yang while answering these very personal questions. He did not have a neat answer for everything, but at least he had someone to bounce thoughts with. Why was he so comfortable to have these discussions with Yang rather than Nora? Or anyone else on his team for that matter?! Was it the way she spoke? Her willingness to listen? Her maturity? Was it the distance Ren felt as he uncovered their mystique or a mutual attraction drawing them in closer?

Ren searched his own heart during meditation. His feelings for Yang grew warmer day by day though his feelings for Nora had not faded- Ren just could not express them properly... There was a duality to Ren's affection. An unwillingness to tell Nora how he feels about them while simultaneously withholding the fact he loves another person to Yang.

Ren did not want to come across as if he's leading Yang on. Neither did he want to stomp out what was blossoming between them.

Yang's turbulent first semester became another frequent talking point between them. Yang nearly got into a fight with Cardin in the cafeteria when she confronted him for bullying Velvet. Shortly thereafter, Yang knocked Cardin's lights out in the Forever Fall Forest when he picked a fight with Jaune! Near the end of her first semester, Blake attempted to ditch Team RWBY following a series of spats with Weiss. Blake later revealed that she is a Faunus and a former White Fang operative. Talking things over after a battle with Roman Torchwick at the docks helped to smooth things out.

The second semester brought some unique challenges for the yoga society. Team CFVY were going to be sent on a lengthy mission at a settlement near Mt Glenn. Yatsuhashi opens the floor to suggestions on who should take over leading yoga classes while he is away.

"I think Ren should lead," Yang suggests.

"Me?!" Ren exclaims.

"Yeah, you! You know much more about yoga than most of us. You’d make a great teacher!" Yang replies.

Intuitively, Yang suspected that Ren wanted to put himself forward but may not have the courage to say it. Yang putting his name forward makes his heart swell with joy!

"I will take the lead!" Ren declares.

There are no objections to his decision to lead yoga classes for the second semester.

"Next time you want something, just say it! You won't get what you don't ask for," Yang adds.

In the days that followed Team RWBY and Team JNPR's food fight to kick off their second semester, Ren frequently found himself caught between Nora and Yang at the lunch table. Conversations about the Beacon dance were nonstop! This topic would constantly remind Ren of the one thing he didn't want to think about- who was going to be his date?

Ren worried that the Yang vs Nora food fight was a premonition of things to come. Yang and Nora seemed to get along well together. Yang's energy complemented Nora's bubbly personality. However, Ren became terrified of the prospect that one day he might have to choose between them. The truth is that he likes both of them! And both of them like him! Why can't he have both?!

Indecision got the best of Ren, so he ended up asking no one to the Beacon dance. That didn't stop both Nora and Yang wanting to dance with him when the night came! Part of Ren felt like there was a competition brewing between them over him. On the other hand, Ren wondered if Yang was just trying to build a meaningful connection as a trio... of friends that is!

Or was it?...

Ren took note of subtle gestures Yang made while yapping with Nora at the Beacon dance. Especially how Yang put her hands on Nora's shoulders. Things got a little bit more physical between Yang and Nora when Ren left them on the dance floor to rest his feet. Could he be reading into girls being girls too much? Was it the **** that had them feeling rather cosy? Was Ren just projecting his own carnal desires onto Yang and Nora's friendship? Did the excitement of watching Nora grinding on Yang's waist make him lose all sense of reason? Or was Ren right about Yang developing amorous feelings for both him and Nora?

The night was capped off by Yang revealing that she is a futanari to Ren and Nora out of the blue. Yang went on a tipsy ramble about how important it was for people she cared about to know before she announced it to the world at the start of the Vytal festival. Nora was in disbelief at this revelation! Yang then joked about hosting an after party to show them proof...

Nora bellowed out in laughter at Yang's comment!

Ren could not tell if it was banter or a suggestion. He tried to laugh it off anxiously.

Yang seemed to be gauging his reaction before deciding what to say next. Her bedroom eyes charmed his trouser snake. Ren's erection was unbearably tight in his slim fit trousers. Yang's gaze lingered upon Ren until Nora's laughter calmed down.

"Well then, I guess it's time to kiss the homies goodnight," Yang remarks.

Yang brought Nora's face in close and smooched her lovingly on the cheek. Yang stepped towards Ren next and kissed him on the cheek too. Yang wished them both sweet dreams before walking away.

Nora and Ren were mutually stunned. Nora remarks that Yang must be really drunk! Ren knew it wasn’t just the juice that made Yang hot blooded tonight.

Inflamed with desire, Ren masturbated vigorously in the bathroom upon returning to his dorm! His nut was like a volcanic eruption! He needed a cold shower to re-balance himself afterwards.

The Beacon dance was a much-needed festivity before the first years were deployed on missions. Yang was sent on a mission in Mt Glenn meanwhile Ren investigated criminal operations in Vale alongside Sun, Neptune and Jaune.

Yang's absence from yoga classes led by Ren were noticeable. Ren still had so many questions about himself left unanswered. Who he wanted to be. What he wanted to do. Where he wants to go. Who he wanted to commit himself to in love. He hoped to explore these questions with Yang and find their answers. Yet, Ren felt like he was standing in his own way.

Longing for Yang's presence made Ren wish he could relive the Beacon dance over and over again. The sensory delight of music, dance, high fashion, and the potential for intimacy doesn't come often. Ren regretted not saying yes to Yang's "after party".

Reminiscing on the whirlwind of emotions Ren experienced that night left him utterly lovesick! His heart was pulled in two directions between the women he loved! Though he could not deny one pull was stronger...

The Breach Incident led to an unexpected reunion between Yang, Ren and Nora. Yang's face was bruised because of the concussion Neopolitan gave her. When Nora points it out to her, Yang responds that it could have been much worse. Ren encouraged her to get out of the active battlefield quickly for some medical attention. The rest of Team RWBY agreed as they pulled back while Atlas drones were deployed to contain the breach.

Raven's appearance earlier that day plagued Yang’s mind... Why did Raven show up today of all days? And how?! Does her semblance let her teleport? Did she know that Yang was in danger, and if yes, how? And if Raven had the ability to teleport straight to Yang's whereabouts, why has she not spoken to her in over a decade?

Ruminating over these questions in her bed caused Yang to dream about meeting Raven in Beacon's courtyard- Raven told her "We need to talk" ominously.

Ren eagerly caught up with Yang after their next yoga class (led by Yatsuhashi once again). Yang had recovered quickly from her concussion. Although, she was disturbed by a dream about her mother. Ren asked to clarify which mother she was talking about.

For the first time, Yang told Ren that her birth mother's name was Raven. Ren felt a shiver down his spine when Yang spoke Raven’s name. He could finally attach a name to the person his intuition had been guiding him to seek answers on!

“You mentioned that your mother was from somewhere in the north. What did you mean by that?” Ren says.

“I know she is a Branwen but not much else. You seem to be very curious about me. What is it about me that you find so interesting?” Yang responds, attempting to pivot the conversation away from Raven.

Yang steps into Ren's personal space and puffs her chest out to distract him. Ren hardly had any time to process Yang telling him that her mother was from the Branwen tribe (and therefore probably a bandit). Ren's breath trembles. Ren tries his best to keep his eyes on Yang's face rather than her chest.

Yang is very impressed that Ren managed to maintain eye contact while flaunting her goods! She puts her hands on her waist, smiling as she anticipates Ren's answer.

“Your hair,” Ren answers earnestly.

“You like my hair?” Yang replies with a flick of her golden locks.

"I-uh, well..." Ren murmurs, tripping over his own words.

“I know what you meant! I like your hair too,” Yang replies, willing to throw him a lifeline.

Yang runs a hand through Ren's hair. She motions to caress his face. Her hand lingers under his chin. Ren tenses up from Yang's touch. He has no idea how to respond to Yang's affection. Generously, Yang offers some words to steer him in the right direction.

"Say something Ren... Say what you want. Speak your desires..." Yang speaks romantically.
