It was rare but not impossible hence why pure humans only made up less than five percent of the population. You had only ever met one pure human outside of the ethics and pacifying courses you had taken with the other pure humans in the city around your age. And that class had all of six students in it.

The much more likely outcome was what had happened with your brother where both parents had a retrovirus in their gametes and so the resulting child has a fusion of their own splices. “I know ma.” You acknowledge. “But the school hasn't had anyone to keep the students in line for almost three years now, the principal is counting on me to get things back under control.”

“A shorter shower might help.” You teased.

“I barely got clean with the one I took.” He complained. “It takes forever for that shower head to soak through my fur. It would be so much better if I could just take a proper bath in the morning.”

Secondly then you would be fighting Mom and Dad for hot water which won't end well for anyone involved. And third then I would be stuck waiting for you to finish up before I could get my shower in.”

“You could just bathe with me instead.” Andrew suggested.

Your brother laughed and finished off his breakfast as the two of you made your way to school. Your family didn't live in a bad part of the city by any stretch of the imagination, hence why your parents had no objections to the two of you walking to school, but it was hardly a nice or gentrified area either. A few of the houses were run down and had an abandoned look to them, some adults spent entirely to much time hanging out on street corners to be up to anything legal and in places it definitely bordered on the bad parts of town. But it had its upsides as well. “Hey Tang.” You greeted the bunny boy as he fell into step besides you.

He wore baggy jeans that were bleached and worn to give them a good grunge look along with a striped shirt that seemed just a size or two too large on him. “Anything interesting happen last night? I missed you at the skatepark.”

“Bro fucked a cop last night.” Your brother announced casually.

“Wait what the fuck?” Tang stuttered in surprise. You cast a glare at your brother. You had only revealed that story to your mother cause she was worried about how late you were getting back. Peacekeeping stuff was inherently personal and not the sort of thing that should be dropped for casual gossip.

“It wasn't anything serious, just settling some instincts.” You tried to play it off.

“Oh no you don't get to drop a line like that and then go all coy!” Tang pressed slipping around in front of you to give you a determined stare while walking backwards. “You got to spill! I never knew peacekeepers could even get into a cop’s pants.”

“Why wouldn't they? Cops got instincts like everyone else.” You declared but it was clear that Tang wasn't going to stop pestering you for details, better to give in here than at school where others could hear.

“It really wasn't a big deal.” You explained as Tang’s face lit up knowing he was getting what he wanted. “I was on a walking patrol with Mr. Grayson, my official mentor, over on fifth street when we stumbled on a **** bust. Some dealer had just sold to an undercover cop and was getting arrested when he flared up and bared his fangs. Well obviously the guy didn't need an **** charge on top of possession with intent to sell, so Mr. Grayson started pacifying him and that quickly escalated to fucking him. That should've been the end of it but the cop starting losing control while Mr. Grayson was still getting the guy stripped, probably because the perp was a wolf and so he was growling a whole lot even while he was going down so I started petting him to keep him from committing any police brutality but neither of them were calming down so…”

“Check what?” You asked confused as Tang pulled out his phone and pulled up a web browser. He tried his best to dance away from you as you tried to peer over his shoulder.

Annoyingly Tang had one of those phones whose screens turned black if you tried to look at them from the wrong angle you would need to be standing right behind him to see what was happening. You slugged him in the shoulder but he spun and danced away from you. You turned your ire on Tang. Once he had stopped laughing you got down to the business of threatening him.

“I'll need your word on your mother's life not to share this around school.” You demanded of the bunny boy.

He lunged at you to grab his phone but you easily held it over his head. His face grew legitimately worried as you applied a hair more pressure.

“Okay! Okay! You win!” Tang gave in yelling with real desperation now. “No one at school will hear about this from me, now can I have my phone back dude? My mom will actually kill me if anything happens to it.”

You threw the phone back to him and smiled graciously at him. “Now that wasn't so hard. Seriously though dude, it's bad enough knowing I'm probably going to end up fucking someone in front of the school one of these days but I'd really rather not put the idea into too many people's heads that they can look up amateur pornos of me.”
