The Civil War Journals: Unwelcome Returns

Dear Diary,

Sorry I've neglected you of late. Between compensating for Charlie's poor management of the farm, to trying to keep Delilah out of the clutches of that ebony Adonis, I have little time to reflect. But I did learn something quite disturbing today.

The war effort goes poorly. No surprise they tell us what we would like to hear. But I despair f ever seeing Daddy or my elder brothers again. Instead, the deplorable and despicable Wade Lancaster has returned, and I fear for our way of life. It is an inauspicious omen in my view.'
