Question Morality

Movie night ended shortly after that.

Everyone rushed downstairs to check on Weiss. By the time they got there, Weiss was already standing up, brushing herself off, her face bright red. Aura really was an amazing shield for Huntsman and Huntresses. However, it didn’t stop the embarrassment of what just happened. How often do people fall out of windows like that? Jaune and the others didn’t want to say anything after making sure she was okay. Except for one girl, who couldn’t hold back her tongue.

“Have a nice FALL?” Yang asked immediately.

“YANG!” Ruby admonished.

“ARG!” Weiss threw her hands up and marched off without another word.

“Seriously?” Blake sighed, looking at Yang.

“I couldn’t resist.” Yang grinned sheepishly.

“So is movie night over?” Nora asked, tilting her head.

“I think so.” Pyrrha nodded. “Weiss isn’t in the mood, and I assume you’re all going back?”

“Yeah, the movie was almost done anyways.” Ruby shrugged. “We’ll give Weiss a little time to calm down then have Yang sit in a corner and think about what she did.”

“It wasn’t my fault she tripped on a toy.” Yang huffed. This was actually true, as it was Jaune’s fault because he put an entry in the book and then Weiss’ fault she insulted him.

“That pun was.” Blake muttered. The true crime that had been committed.

“We’ll clean up then.” Ren quickly glanced at Nora and Pyrrha. It was best for them to escape the awkward conversation. The girls agreed quickly and they turned to look at Jaune to see if they would join them.

“Umm, Ruby.” Jaune had an idea. “If you have some time tonight, can we talk… privately? I got a couple things I need to ask you.”

“Huh? Sure?” Ruby was confused and Yang’s eyes narrowed in suspicion but quickly shook it off. Ruby and Jaune were friends, along with being dorks, so they wouldn’t do anything bad. To Yang, Jaune was harmless.

Jaune with a reality book was not, but Yang didn’t know that. Shoot, Jaune playing with her chest earlier today was completely normal. Back at Team JNPR’s room, Jaune and his team cleaned up quickly. He wasn’t sure why one of Zwei’s toys was here, but assumed it was there either because Ruby left it when she brought Zwei over one day, or the book created it to punish Weiss. He almost erased the entry he made on Weiss, but then decided it was fine. She wasn’t actually being injured. Instead, he made another one.

When Ruby and I meet tonight, any question I ask her will be answered truthfully and Ruby will consider the question perfectly normal. No matter the topic. She will keep our conversation a secret.

A short time later, there was a knock on the door and Jaune opened it to see his friend. Ruby waved at him and smiled.

“You wanted to talk?” She asked.

“Yeah, let’s go somewhere more private.” Jaune replied, closing the door behind him. The two of them headed to the roof of the school since it was getting late. No one would be up there. The cool night air felt nice as they leaned against the railing. “So I was wondering. Let’s say you could change reality anyway you wanted to. What would you do?”

“Hmm.” Ruby didn’t question why he asked that. “I don’t know? There’s so much I could do. Maybe make it so I can get all my nutrients from cookies and don't have to eat vegetables.”

“Of course.” Jaune laughed. “But would you use it on others? Like no one would know if you changed reality. It would be as if it was always the case”

“You’re right!” Ruby’s eyes widened. “I could make Weiss realize she’s my BFF, I could have Yang stop the horrible puns, and I could have Blake open up more so I can learn about her.”

“You would use your power on other people to manipulate them?” Jaune raised an eyebrow.

“Umm, yeah, I think so.” Ruby slowly nodded. “I might tell myself I wouldn’t, but I think I would. If reality changes, then it’s real, right?”

“I guess?” Jaune shrugged. “This is all hypothetical of course.”

“Yeah, no one can just change reality.” Ruby laughed. If she only knew.

“If someone else could change reality, since you’re okay with changing other people, you wouldn’t mind if they changed you if they wanted?” Jaune asked.

“I guess that would be fair.” Ruby admitted. “As long as I was unaware, I guess it’s okay. I would hate being aware of random changes.”

Now Jaune didn’t feel so bad. If Ruby was okay with changing people, then what he was doing really wasn’t that bad, was it? She even admitted she would use it on others, and it would be fair if she could be targeted. Not that Jaune was planning to do a lot with his best friend, he just wanted to talk to someone about the morality of his power.

“I was thinking of getting a girlfriend,” Jaune told her.

“Moving past Weiss?” Ruby asked.

“Sort of?” Jaune mostly wanted practice and to see what it was like to have a girlfriend. He never really had one, as all his sisters chased away any girl. What he really wanted was the entire experience. Then he could move to Weiss with all that he learned. “I’m looking for a girl who would be interesting to have as a girlfriend. Who also might like sex. Know anyone like that?”

“Not Yang for sure.” Ruby laughed. “Don’t tell her I told you; she’s a virgin.”

“Really?” Jaune blinked.

“She talks the talks, but she never got past touching and kissing.”

“Wow… I would never guess.” Jaune laughed.

“I don’t really know much about anyone else's sex lives.” Ruby admitted. “It’s not something I usually ask.”

“That’s fine, you already helped me more than you know.” Jaune hugged her. “Thanks Ruby.”

“Anytime, Jaune.” Ruby giggled. “I’ll let you know if I hear anything.”

They headed back to their dorm rooms and Jaune prepared for bed. He chatted with his team a bit before eyeing Nora’s tight bed t-shirt and Pyrrha’s nightgown covering her body. He was still a guy and while Pyrrha was like a sister, he could admit she was attractive. Plus he remembered Nora’s sloppy blowjob and smiled. She had been so eager to please. Though the book was open in his hand and he debated what to write. He kind of wanted a girlfriend, but who?
