Chapter 27

What's next?

Silent Humming

Liam was hyper-aware of Lisa's closeness. They lay side by side on his bed. He was only wearing his boxer shorts, in which his huge erection was clearly visible. She was wearing nothing but her tight little shirt, which barely covered her bottom. To top it all off, she snuggled up to him very closely. All this did nothing to help him relax.

The room seemed to vibrate with an inexplicable energy. It was subtle at first — a faint tingling in the air, like static electricity, brushing over their skin. Then a low hum, just beyond the audible range of the human ear. Liam shifted uncomfortably, his thoughts turning hazy and confusing. He glanced sideways at Lisa, who was staring at the ceiling with a peculiar smile on her lips.

“Do you feel that?” he asked, his voice hoarse with tension.

Lisa blinked and turned her head toward him, her expression unreadable. “Feel what?”

“I don’t know ... it’s like…” He trailed off, struggling to put the sensation into words. “It’s like the room is ... buzzing or something.”

Lisa smirked. “Buzzing? What are you, a fridge?”

Liam rolled his eyes. “I’m serious! It’s like ... warm, but also cold. Tingly.” He felt his erect cock twitch on its own.

Lisa raised an eyebrow, a teasing glint in her eyes. “Tingly, huh? Sounds like you need a little relaxation.” She flicked her finger against his tent, eliciting a wistful moan from him.

“I’m not kidding, Lisa!” he snapped, but his indignation was undercut by the growing flush on his face.

Lisa propped herself up on one elbow, studying him with an amused tilt of her head. “Relax, Liam. Maybe you’re just nervous because you’re lying in bed with me.”

Liam sputtered, his ears turning bright red. “W-what?! That’s not — no! It’s not like that!”

“Sure it’s not,” she said, smirking as she pinched his weenie and then let her fingers wander deeper in search of his balls.

But even as she teased him, Lisa felt it too — the strange warmth curling around her like a silk scarf, the whisper of thoughts that weren’t entirely her own. Wouldn’t it be fun to see how far she can push him? Beside her, Liam fidgeted, his breathing uneven.

“Please stop. This house is messing with us,” he muttered, his voice barely above a whisper.

Lisa laughed softly, though there was a nervous edge to it. “You’re just saying that because you’re scared.”

“I’m not scared!” he shot back, but his tone lacked conviction.

They fell silent for a moment, the air between them thick with tension.

Then Lisa leaned closer, her voice low and conspiratorial. “You know, if Margot’s ghost is watching us right now, she’s probably having the time of her life.”

Liam groaned, covering his face with his hands. “Why would you say that?”

“Because it’s funny,” Lisa replied, grinning wickedly. “And because she’d probably think this is hilarious.”

Liam peeked at her through his fingers, his expression equal parts exasperation and embarrassment. “You’re the worst.”

“Maybe,” Lisa said, blowing her steamy breath in his face. “But at least I’m not a fridge. On the contrary, I feel as hot as an oven right now.”
