Chapter 3 by aassssssasssssssssss aassssssasssssssssss

What's next?

1 or 3, I can do anything

I say one, but it could be a three if you consider upgrading your mind to be a bonus, in which case it's a two or three. But since I like having an untampered mind, I think having god powers and other divine requisites fulfilled would be worthy of 1, ps, if you do not understand the number classifications, read the top section on the first page.

So, yeah, Marcus had his wish fulfilled and became a god, not a demigod, not like a god, and not a god that's part of the universe without aiding his mortal brain. Marcus was made into a god who knew how to create and do anything he wished without having his consciousness tampered with, if he wanted, he could do that to himself, giving him limitless potential. With this potential, Marcus remade himself with an angelic/cosmic theme, moving on by creating his own universe next to Earth's universe, anchoring the two just in case. Afterwards, Marcus sped up time in his universe and began constructing all the fun and fantastical things, thinking of himself as a veteran god because he made a divine realm that helped him look out at everything he made, search the multiverse and omniverse for its infinite wonders, and had several ways to "update" his universe by removing things or the continuous creation of those things and vice versa. He made his universe free, without fate or the horrors of the things beyond his realm. To simply get to Marcus's world, Marcus would personally vet these creatures or entities and give them certain requirements for their visits, warning them of his unfathomable power. But Marcus didn't get many of these since his universe accelerated so quickly, causing Marcus to find ways to mess around and toil over other things while he waited for shit to evolve, occasionally creating alien races with certain planned events or guided evolution in their DNA. Still, when his main world began to evolve, his playground he called Free Hope, nudging anyone who wanted to name their planet to this name. But that stuff was later, what came first was the intelligent races that he had evolved into intellectual creatures alongside humans, a desired race for this transcendent entity. Marcus waited till they began figuring out technology before he made big changes, often separating species that threatened to dominate the world or cause extinctions by moving them onto their own planet with the exact geography as the lands they knew, along with plants and animals, while the rest of their new worlds were random. This left only a few intelligent species on Free Hope who caused humanity and other creatures to evolve in many different ways from the Earth-like home he hoped to construct, however, with a lot more alien environments and creatures, with the Earth-like areas more so being humanity's starting grounds and a homage to his homeworld. But I digress because although these creatures had evolved uniquely and interestingly, it wasn't until they fully claimed ownership of lands and began settling in ways that occupied them and established the first cities. Once that happened, Marcus introduced magic as if it had always been there, allowing his people to think they simply hadn't discovered it until now, giving Marcus the satisfaction and amusement as they devoted their whole lives to magic or a profession, thinking they had mastered the world and all its wonders. Sadly, that wasn't true, and they quickly saw why when other races with their own domains began "finding" one another, leading to races for land and border conflicts, all by making a near-impossible place to pass suddenly just easy enough to lead to mixing populations. Suddenly, the magical and handcrafted races of elves, demon-kin, beastmen, dwarves, dragons, and so many others were suddenly able to pass the impossibly high mountain range that crumbled into smaller, more natural mountain ranges after an underground water current finally chipped away enough for the mountains to safely collapse in on themselves without falling everywhere. It was a miracle (wink*), and the mountains became shard rubble or much smaller mountains facing diagonal angles with massive gaps between them. All of the people around the world could see it, thinking that their ancestors simply didn't think to go past the mountain ranges, which were more like giant walls to the sun, never imagining that they were actually two different worlds now fully made whole as Marcus planned.

Now that they were connected, it was like a massive ta-da~ to the world, revealing honestly plain races and creatures compared to the fantastical world out of an isekai that Marcus sculpted down to the last person out of sheer boredom.

As Marcus planned, these two worlds simply couldn't handle one another, causing fights between the species and many fears to emerge. All of a sudden, humans were the underdogs, the runt of the litter who seemed to have trouble with the vermin in the magical side of Free Hope. Worse yet, vampires, goblins, giant rats the size of doors, and the many other monsters from half of the world invaded, scuttling into the darkness as they quickly fucked up human ecosystems and that of their subspecies and other evolutionary neighbours that started alongside humans. In desperation, the:

  • Humans: A race evolved from monkeys that then split into many subspecies that became minorities or stayed as humans for the majority.
  • Ammibaos: A race of several hive minds who have a central blob and many microscopic colony cells that feed the central blob through harvesting of minerals, organic components, bacteria, and diseases. They can create anything from their bodies given the resources, a process that becomes quicker with the right sources at hand, becoming great substitutes for blacksmiths.
  • Halflings: A human subspecies that evolved into people half the size of humans at the tallest height possible, they are still able to cross-breed with other humans and human subspecies without the existence of magic as Marcus's gift for interracial couples.
  • Others

-Created a wall; All these races from their side of Free Hope they called the Right Hand, since the left half called their Left Hand, had constructed a wall across where the mountain range used to be, trying to control what came in and out, barely working unless it's against flying creatures, in which case they need to act quickly with arrows or ballistae. But this only really helped against peaceful groups, humans couldn't use magic for spells unless it was for cross-breeding, hybrid races, or magical aids like mana tanks and mechanical wands that stored specific spells. Other races on Right Hand could use magic like the Ammibaos or even subspecies like halflings, but the pre-existing relationships and peace that the Right Hand had established left no ill will, and the human dominance ensured their place, at least among locals. When it came to invasions from Left Hand though, Right Hand and humans were kinda fucked, the wall didn't really work against the beings from Left Hand if they were a magical army, making it only really great for beasts. Because of this, the Right Hand is in constant danger from Left Hand and has already lost some territory to invasions or runaways/exiles re-establishing their power on Right Hand. But the stopping of invasions from beasts is still a positive since Right Hand has the least monsters, and their vigilant actions against monsters have meant that guilds in Right Hand aren't overworked since they are able to quickly spot monster newcomers trying to fuck all the other animals into new monster species, outbreaks that are quickly stopped. Still, this only makes it worse for Right Hand kingdoms and nations since others see them as weak without any real threat. Even their own nations value magical races in their militaries more than humans, whether they're human nations or not. Besides basic training, keeping up morale, and stopping deserters, or if you're a noble or someone of equal importance, humans are fucked in the armies. But this doesn't mean humans are pushovers, many talented people have made their way onto special task forces and even the infamous world-ender, the Demon Lord, has come from humans. In a swapping of tradition, it was not only a human demon lord but human-ish subjects that fought alongside and were turned into monsters, human-ish ones with only inner changes that made them turn into super soldiers akin to space marines.

Many tried to rise against the Demon Lord but were killed and pushed armies into a weakened state, especially since assholes from Left Hand, who were the ones with the terrifying prophesies and stories, had ignored Right Hand when the Demon Lord emerged, only stepping in when he got close to Left Hand borders or territories taken by Left Hand creatures. Yet, even then, Left Hand barely gave any support while strong-arming Right Hand into handing over leadership and pushing them into a worthless ****. This backfired for Left Hand since the commanders they sent over were inept and racist, leading to humans and other Right Hand factions cutting off communication since Left Hand commanders would either try and kill or puppet Right Hand officials. This was the best thing Right Hand could do since this act saved the northern half of powers and refugees from the south who were left to die at the borders. They had to resist him with everything they had: controlled explosions, monsters and animals given coke, guerilla forces, expensive fortifications and fortresses, even with the entire northern half of Right Hand. However, that didn't mean the Demon Lord didn't try to take these humans. Even by ****, created a combatant worth three lower-ranked high-tier monsters, rare and powerful creatures. After accepting the transformation and brainwashing, these monsterised humans and human subspecies were equivalent to one-and-a-half mid-ranked high-tier beasts. Human subspecies were similarly enhanced once transformed, and the Demon Lord gave everyone a chance unless they did something that made the Demon Lord angry or was a cause of his current existence/madness. The northern half of Right Hand was simply too heavily defended, but it lacked much offensive power and was neutered in that aspect once regular patrols were established to fuck them up in the conquered territories. This meant that the only option for the Demon Lord was to go west towards Left Hand, or else he'd waste forces on an unprofitable front.

-

Once the Demon Lord went west, their confidence faded quickly as he pushed aggressively for the first few weeks before halting and only having his men do hit-and-runs or create hidden outposts so they could gain monster hordes or steal women. As for what the Demon Lord was doing, he had accomplished everything he currently had without upgrading his Demon Lord essence. Most Demon Lords are supposed to have hate and rage consume them, feeding the Demon Lord essence, which would quickly transform "blessed" subjects and turn them into demons or fill them with demonic power, doing the same with beasts but only in deeper parts of the Demon Lord's territory where his influence would be strong enough to enforce cohesion among the more rabid beasts. But since this demon lord was born through the pain and oppression of his people, he focused on his twisted form of liberation by turning humans into monsters, something that even other demon lords with the same origin would fail to do, showing just how great this demon lord's mental fortitude is, but also showing how powerful the essence of demon lords are to drive this demon lord crazy. Yet, in spite of that, this demon lord pushed with his beasts to gain an advantage before consolidating his power, spending 20 years beefing up his territory and faking internal strife so other forces would blindly charge in hopes of exposing the Demon Lord's weakness. They failed, and the Demon Lord had not only taken brave soldiers, he turned the divide between Right Hand and Left Hand into a powerful monster made by filling ammibaos with his demonic power and magical cannons, using them to obliterate anyone within sight, and let me tell you, there was a lot in sight since it was just above the mountains that remained, making it the biggest recorded monster, acting like a sniper with a cannon from Earth's American navy. As for the cities and towns, they were emptied out for anything valuable and only used if they could offer strategic value, wombs and cocks were included, getting turned into male and female breeders, pumping out kids who gain their elf mother's longevity and nature affinity or orc father's strong physical build and virility. Entire cities were filled where people lived solely to be **** for their sperm or impregnated with monsters, often having their forms mutated with the Demon Lord's powers, enabling them to do both and still have room for more kids while pregnant. In 20 years, the Demon Lord greatly expanded his numbers and made special weapons of mass destruction or weapons that provided superiority in battle. Even Marcus was getting a bit worried by the first year, constantly checking on the hero meter, seeing how it hadn't filled up the correct amount of causality. Unfortunately, unless Marcus wanted to intervene directly, he had to wait, but with the Demon Lord's passivity, even his traps that draw in soldiers are counted as self-defence. So, breaking his new toy so early on, Marcus selected 18 heroes out of the existing generation while also preparing four heroes to be born from his realm of souls where the dead reincarnated, lived a life of infinite delight according to their will, went off elsewhere, possibly even to other multiverses, or sacrificed their souls to make a new one by themself or with someone else. Marcus's world and hero-demon lord system didn't like his tampering with the existing rules, but there was no alternative, his favourite planet was going to be doomed if he didn't change the rules.

Thus, Marcus sent in the 22 heroes; 3 heroes died on the first day after receiving a gift from the heavens, 7 made great accomplishments and leaps of faith that recovered territories, but they fell short and/or knew their limits, which led them to decide they shouldn't go further, 5 died fighting the Demon Lord, 2 defected, and the last guy didn't take well to his divine gift, going insane before exploding. However, the last guy didn't stop there; his divine gift didn't mesh well with his mortal being, leading his powers to mutate into an ever-growing mess that corrupted the land and created infinite versions of him that screamed as they ripped out other creatures' eyes and skulls, leaving puddles that created more of himself which caused its own problem. This left the Demon Lord to halt operations to clean up the mess before it got away and consumed a chunk of the planet, potentially never getting removed and always hurting the world till the Demon Lord was all that remained. This occupied the Demon Lord and his diverted legions long enough for the Left Hand Anti-Demon Lord Alliance to kill one of the world's great terrors, which stayed in the Sumara Forest, enabling them to create grand fortifications that were then enhanced with poisonous and carnivorous plant species given magic to survive in the desert before they scorched the surrounding lands for miles. This created a desert at a great cost, which withheld the Demon Lord, who still had these copies of the last hero to deal with, forcing him to infest the lands touched by the hero's copies with all the different species of slimes before quarantining it off. This way, the countries within the southwest with a giant wall of mountains to the north and the ocean to their west and east were able to survive, while the northern countries in the Left Hand relied on the Demon Lord's consolidation of power to survive the independent attacks of his legions.

Reading the Demon Lord's thoughts, Marcus found out that the Demon Lord had channelled his Demon Lord essence into not just logistics but his own form. Because, although humans couldn't use magic, even if they became the Demon Lord, the existing Demon Lord was still able to expel demonic-magical energy and turn it into a tonic that enhanced his body and senses. This allowed the Demon Lord to still enhance his legions and grow stronger since feeding his body magic is like giving a guy steroids or replacing their regular diet of pills with 5-star stakes. The Demon Lord couldn't use spells by himself, and he learned that magic devices that enabled humans to use magic were not only extremely limited and inefficient but also caused a slow degradation on the body of the magic caster equivalent to the magic they're using. Since the Demon Lord is, a simple spell after putting his mana into a container would kill him outright, which is also probably one of the reasons the Left Hand weren't worried in the beginning. Thus, the Demon Lord couldn't use this method, but at least he had the benefit of not getting left at a disadvantage against physically superior races like orcs when enemies somehow manage to trick him or lure him into a magic negation field, his skin's also stronger than a million fireball spells so... yeah. As for his eyes, the Demon Lord had seen all the way to Seflon Prime, a planet past 7 solar systems in a cluster of gas clouds that would keep those aliens in there for 3000 more years than other civilisations would if they started trying to go to space whenever those on Seflon Prime did. Marcus had to commend the Demon Lord; he not only saw a habitable world, but the Demon Lord also saw past the thick gas cloud swirling around that solar system's star and even deciphered that the underground civilisations were intelligent due to the few foreign structures which were fortified against gas cloud explosions so heavily they looked like weird rocks. Such ambitions were crazy, so crazy that they ruined Marcus's fun when the Demon Lord realised there could be other continents beyond the few around their continent. Thus, the Demon Lord hadn't simply been planning to conquer his continent; he was planning to conquer the entire planet and then move on to the universe, mighty ambitions indeed. Sadly, the Demon Lord would be stopped in his tracks when his lieutenants and generals began reporting four powerful people heroes had arisen. It had been almost 2 decades since the heroes emerged; the Demon Lord's men had killed 4 of the remaining heroes, leaving 2 to go into hiding and the last one to stand tall after overcoming impossible odds due to his gift of enhanced luck that barely surpassed his bad luck and allowed his luck to act like an independent entity/financial advisor, but for his luck. This last hero, Thaniel, helped Zaska, Liona, Vahh, and Voot when it came time to attack the Demon Lord after their various missions and escapades led to a fracturing of trust in the Demon Lord's army. Killing the Demon Lord enabled these doubts to fester as they failed to follow the command structure and struck out on their own, fighting amongst themselves for dominance. This allowed the humans transformed into full demons and monsters/animals transformed into demonic beasts to be pushed to the border, creating a territory known as the Demon Kingdom, which gave demons protection from invasions by other armies, allowing them to remain on Left Hand near the border. As for Right Hand, those territories were taken back with blood and vengeance, allowing Right Hand's forces to recover the Demon Lord's journal, the notes and files of his servants, and a treasure trove of shit that he took and found little use for except giving himself a little treat. These resources acted as a lifeline for Right Hand when it came to retaking territories and paying for expeditions to purge demonic and monster presences in the area. Right Hand almost thanked the demons for this massive vault of goodies and the reformation of their nations if not for the bloodshed. Still, the demons almost completely transformed humans into demons who would have birthed a foreign magical race that spat on their names. However, this didn't mean they'd never forgive them, the Demon Lord's army fucked up Left Hand more than Right Hand, and the two became great allies when Left Hand forces tried to take a piece of the pie in Right Hand territory, not just loot but land. This was on top of the persecution they now had for birthing the Demon Lord and becoming his preferred pick for super soldiers, ON TOP of the prejudice humans got for not being able to use magic and Right Hand having the lowest-ranked magical species. For these reasons, Right Hand remained mostly full of humans, their subspecies, and the few other intelligent creatures that evolved alongside humans, with some immigrants accepted. Otherwise, powerful Left Hand creatures and large groups of Left Hand denizens won't be allowed in unless they're refugees.
