Alone at home

The next morning, Alexis found herself up fairly early, as she exited the bath she saw Hekate in a hurry. The demoness glanced at her, “I have to go, my little tease, the king has summoned me, I might not be back till late.”

Alexis attempted to ask what was happening but the demoness had already rushed out the door. She paused, wondering what could be happening in the kingdom, and if Miss Hekate would be okay. Blinking, she blushed realizing how she had grown attached to this woman who had, had, redefined her life, recreating her into the body she now had. No longer the man she had been all her life, but a girl, and a half demon at that. Sighing, she went back to her room, putting on a t shirt and skirt, sighing again as she only has the choice of skirts and dresses.

Returning to the main room she made her way to the kitchen finding some fruit and juice and after eating moved back to the sitting room. Being bored she began to look around the room and the shelves. Finally, on an upper shelf she found a child’s storybook laying flat, a layer of dust covering the neglected book.

Her fingers paused hovering over the book for a moment, then brushing away the layer of dust. Why would Miss Hekate have something like this in her home. It’s seemed out of place, childish even, for a strong confident woman like Miss Hekate. She mused as she slowly, nervously picked up the volume, a bit guilty as she wondered if she was intruding on something so personal of hers.

With the book in hand, she walked over to an overstuffed leather chair, and curled up into it. Slowly she wiped the dust from the cover of the book, “Lady Eisheth, Melody of a Free Soul.” A painting of a beautiful blonde woman with long flowing hair and lavender eyes that drew the reader in, and invoke a sense of unrelenting strength but yet deep sadness and loss.

She slowly opened the book to read the story within.
