Not needed

There was a certain draw to checking how things were going but in the moment however, it didn’t feel like you actually ‘needed’ to view the KDK. Sarah was at the front of your mind with how you wanted to make sure she was doing okay after the night you had had together and it only felt right to keep her as your focus for the time being. That said, you still planned to at least have your phone nearby, for both the potential of using an effect and just in case someone actually tried to contact you.

Given that you planned to watch movies, you quickly finished drying yourself and put on some loose-fitting lounge wear that worked as something you could cuddle up with.

You went back down the hallway and saw Sarah turn to head down the stairs, letting you quickly jog to catch up with her as you both reached the bottom. You hugged Sarah from behind and while it made it harder for her to walk, Sarah didn’t issue a word of complaint and just crossed her arms over yours to hold you closer.

You did have to disentangle briefly as you figured out where you were sitting in the living room but after getting a few spare blankets and settling down on a sofa, you both cuddled back up together again. You sat on one side of the sofa and Sarah leaned against your side, letting you throw one of the blankets over the two of you to share. Her head rested on your shoulder and you wrapped an arm around her waist to pull her in closer, gently running your fingers along her side furthest from you just because you could.

In the little space between the two of you, you could feel your phone poking your leg and took it out of your pocket, lifting it up and placing it on the table at the side of you.

You were about to start searching for something to watch with the remote but Sarah’s started to speak, turning your attention towards her.

“You did something on your phone earlier… You don’t have to tell me but… I’m still a bit confused about that to be honest” Sarah revealed, your earlier strange behaviour now coming back up.

Even if you didn’t mean to, you felt yourself tense up at the thought of what you might have to explain and in response, Sarah briefly hugged you tighter, trying to show that she was here for you and that it was safe to say whatever you wanted.

Earlier you were just looking for any excuse to make the experience easier and more pleasurable for Sarah but now that you had to potentially explain what the KDK was, you weren’t quite sure what to do.

When you had told Emma, it was before you had purposefully done anything that would affect her and in hindsight that made it easier to explain to her. Changing her kink had been an accident and explaining that had given you some basis for you both to then move forward.

With Sarah however, you had made so many changes and used so many effects that it seemed impossible to reveal what you had done without an overwhelming anxiety coming over you. Sarah being there next to you did help to keep those feelings down but instead, you felt more guilt about not telling her sooner.

“I…I really want to tell you but… it’s a bit of a big deal and I’d like some time to prepare. It’s something Emma is already aware of. I don’t know if that helps or makes things more confusing but I think having us both there to explain would…” you started to say, trying to give a reason for needing more time.

“Hey, hey. It’s fine. I promise. You don’t have to explain if you don’t want to. I’ve told you, I trust you remember? If it was for my benefit then you don’t have to tell me. I’m just curious is all. That’s it really” Sarah replied, doing her best to reassure you and actually succeeding in getting you to calm down before you started to ramble again.

The overwhelming level of trust she seemed to have in you was something you had already been worried about in the past and she genuinely did seem okay with not knowing about whatever you were doing. Still, you had been presented with an opportunity to come clean and you didn’t think you would actually use it if Sarah gave you an excuse.

“Tomorrow. After the meal and the party with everyone. I promise me and Emma will take the time to tell you. And make sure you remind me at the time so I stick by my promise okay?” you said, backing yourself into a corner so you would have to tell her later.

It felt like you were still putting off the inevitable but just that bit of extra time felt like you could prepare yourself and figure out what you were going to tell Sarah. You really wanted to tell her the truth and while Emma had surprisingly accepted that you had a reality-altering device just casually in your back pocket, you didn’t expect everyone else to react the same. It also meant that if you did it Tuesday night, you would have Emma there to support not just you but she could also support Sarah in a way that you didn’t think you could. One subject to another.

“Okay, I can remind you. And Emma if you want me to.” Sarah agreed, snuggling up closer at the side of you and showing that she genuinely didn’t seem bothered by you delaying telling her what you knew.

“Cool… So, is there anything you actually wanted to watch or do you want me to pick something random?” you asked, feeling like you were quickly changing the topic rather abruptly.

“Oh! There was something I wanted to see” Sarah enthusiastically replied, directing you to a romantic comedy that you had vaguely heard about before.

Even before the movie started, you were glad that Sarah wasn’t fully relying on you and instead gave her opinion. She had been flip-flopping over decisions all evening and now that the two of you had finally fucked it seemed like her trust for you had increased but in a way that let her express herself without so much fear of rejection, something you were happy about in the grand scheme of things.

The opening scenes started to play and while you could have gone off into your own head while Sarah enjoyed the movie, you decided to just chill out and actually enjoy the time you had in the present, sitting there with a beautiful girl in your arms and not having to worry about anything for the next few hours.
