Chapter 180 by outa outa

Do you put on the goggles?

Lay back on the bed and don the goggles.

You get comfortable and then pull the goggles on. You need to adjust your now much longer hair. It's an annoyance, but one that reminds you of your transformation which in turn brings a smile to your face. There are earbuds on the side of the goggles that fit snuggle in your ear canals.

Now in position and with the goggles strapped to your face you press a button on the side. Immediately the sound of the rest of the house cuts out. You were expecting more rapid disorienting images but instead you feel as though you've been transported to a serene pond near a rural farmstead, far from the hustle and bustle of every day life.

You breath in deeply and slowly.

you swear you can taste the cool clean air.

You breath out just as slowly.

You breath in.

Movement across the pond, a young buck appears from the distant fog bounding for the pond, desperately thirsty.

you breath out.

The buck stops short of the pond and looks directly at you.

The buck breaks before you do and tenses to bolt, maybe he can escape, but he can't, your vision is fading.

You breath out.

You breath in.

Your vision returns, it's a different pond and a different deer, now a doe.

The doe remains.

You breath in.

She comes closer to the pond and dips her head in to drink deep and be nourished.

You breath out.

She is calm in your presence, sustainable,

You breath in.

Your own thirst is quenched.

You breath out.

The light is fading fast.

you breath in.

One last glorious blaze of orange and red light strikes out across the sky and then fades.

You breath out.

Darkness, perfect darkness.

you breath in.

You allow your eyes to close, weariness and comfort overtake you.
