Dearest Diary,

It took awhile to figure out why Samson was here. But it is quite clear now. All the womenfolk helpers ... including Jemima ... are now with child. I heard Daddy tell Roger that these would be 'stock' as if they were cattle. And because Samson fathered them, it appears he believes they will be quite valuable.

I guess I never thought about it like that. I am unsure if I am just naive. But the thought sickens me. Charlie said I was being silly, and he thinks all women are silly. But these should be the high times, and shouldn't there be a limit to what we turn into product?

Oh, Diary. I'm confused. But I think dark times are ahead for the Castle clan.
