Kiri’s Perspective

Kiri was diligently reviewing the appointment logs when a handsome male in a nice suit had come up to the front desk. He was a big man with bright blue eyes and a cheerful face. He told her his name was James Holt. Kiri was nervous when she checked the schedule and found he did not have an appointment. Reluctantly, she had to turn him away.

She felt bad that she had to deny him entry, but she had just started this job and couldn’t afford to go against the rules. Things were already strict when it came to insect girls, and she didn’t want to cause any issues.

When the male leaned over the counter and got closer, she caught a strong hint of pheromones that unbalanced her. Urges began to form in her head, and she could feel that the more she looked at him, the more uncomfortable she became. Was her body preparing for procreation just being near this human? She wasn’t sure if it was because of this particular male or if she was simply feeling the effects of reaching sexual maturity.

Before she left her home, her mother had given her proper instruction for finding and capturing a mate. She had also read about the process at length. She was sure her theoretical understanding was all-encompassing, but she still wasn’t prepared for the surge of strong feelings.

She could not allow herself to succumb to base desires while at work. It was improper. The problem was that looking at this male made it unbearable. It was driving her feral inside.

The male was persistent with his request, and she wanted to help him even just to gain his favor. Unfortunately, that just wasn’t possible. The pressure he gave her was becoming overwhelming, so in a panic she called for security. She felt bad for calling them, but she couldn’t think straight. She needed him gone quickly for both of their sakes.

Mantis women were quite vicious in acquiring their partners. They utilized a strategy to lure men close to them using their gentle appearance and releasing pheromones. Then, they typically waited for a desirable male to get close in order to kidnap and trap them for mating. Their urges to mate were strong despite their generally flat expressions. The results of their muted emotions meant they often released pent up feelings when their instincts took over. Therefore, it was only in the throws of procreation that they revealed their true faces, which often horrified humans.

It didn’t help that many believed that mantis women ate the men they captured after mating. Certainly, it was true that in the passion of the moment one might be inclined to take a bite, but it was rare for **** to occur. This left them with an added stigma. Combined with the fact that humans generally favored the more…soft species of monster girls, finding a suitable mate was truly difficult. Many humans rejected insect and arachnid species due to their personal fears.

If this male got any closer, Kiri was not sure she could suppress her instincts any longer, which would mean trouble.

Thankfully, security had intercepted the male. Kiri was shocked to see that the two already knew each other, even more so when the man suddenly embraced her. In truth, she felt an emotion she hadn’t felt before. She didn’t hate the guard, but that embrace had made Kiri angry for some reason. It was so confusing and irrational.

Cerena, the guard in question, had explained the situation and offered to guide the male to HR. Kiri hesitated, not wanting the male alone with Cerena. She could sense the rising sexual pheromones coming from the hellhound, but she had no further grounds to deny him.

Before leaving, the male had apologized to Kiri and even offered to see her again. Despite the fact he knew she was an insect girl, he treated her warmly. It was the first time she had garnered such positive attention from a male. Though she couldn’t outwardly show it, his considerate nature had made her want to take him even more. Kiri was sure of it now. One way or another, that male would be her mate.
